Finally installed the pair in my new XL. It was very easy and took me 15 minutes. Popping out the inner fender liners was the trick. Did a test drive and it definitely improves the ticking noise and road noise seems to down as well. Glad I did it.

Mine does not have them. I had the dealer look while I was in for the hybrid brake TSB. They basically blew me off and said they don't come with them. There happened to be a hybrid lariat, and we looked at it and of course it didn't have the fender insulators either.

There was a polyurethane shortage worldwide during the plamdemic - just to set the history straight .... anyway -

I've ordered mine and put in the drivers side (passenger I hope to go in the fender liner route) - with the edition of the engine cover - quiets down to my ears. like others have noticed there is a gap at the top - found Fender Insulator. Sound Insulator (LARIAT). | FordUS - part # 7840380 or

- that goes in the top - at least it makes the most sense and squeezes in there. it is just some sort of poly fiber filter like composition -

Just thought I'd throw that out there

Cheers

Another vote for this little part - it definitely seems to quiet down some road noise, especially the A/T tires on my Tremor.

If you think about it, the trailing edge of the front tread is inches away from your ankle - and this insulator is placed right between them.

Was very quick and simple to pop the three lower clips on the fender liners and slide the piece up. Less than 10 minutes total.

I recently installed a pair of these in my XLT, it was a real bitch putting these in, had I known it was so easy by just removing the clips from the felt liners it would have been a snap, I pushed them down from the top & pulled on the bottom, to me they fit poorly, but I may not have them aligned right, the only difference I noticed is I usually have the radio volume set at 10, now 9 is comfortable for me.

PLEASE! If anyone purchases these insulators, take a photo of them next to a tape measure prior to installation. I would like to know how tall/long they are and how wide. I have some similar packing material around the house and I think I could save myself $80 by making my own.
I did watch the Big Kahuna's video on it, but I could not tell the dimensions of the insulators.
Thank You in advance.

Just to check, the part # for these is “NZ6Z-16071-A” & “NZ6Z-16072-A” correct?

Yes that's the PNs.
NZ6Z-16072-A Insulator = "L" Driver side fender apron insulator
NZ6Z-16071-A Insulator = "R" Passenger side fender apron insulator

Got my insulators in the mail today and put them in. I will start by saying I installed them a bit different than what I see in this thread (even the ones from the factory).

I put the one marked “R” on the drivers side and the “L” on the passenger side. The smooth side of the insulators are facing the back of the truck, and the bubbly side is facing the front.

I did it this way because the dimples lined up perfectly with every screw and bracket in the fender. They fit tight from left to right and pretty tight top to bottom (the drivers side could probably be pulled a little north to fill the rest of the gap in, but my arms were scraped to hell so I threw the towel in.

I haven’t driven with them yet, and I doubt I’ll notice much of a difference, but it bothered me seeing the engine complement when I opened the door.

Agreed! Funny part is that the truck was designed for there to be insulation placed with a clip at the top… do you or anyone have any suggestions? Maybe ford tech would be willing to assist… I don’t mind paying to have this insulated if it’s not outrageous… not wild about seeing unfinished business and I’m sure it aides in noise/smell/etc
I have insulation on my Lariat. Not much good. Just a strip that goes from clip down, and don't seal anything. gaps all around. This has been discussed on another thread, back in 2022 when Maverick was being built for the first time, you might want to check it out.
