Chastang Ford in Houston called and said this Mav didn’t get picked up! They had a $2,500.00 market adjustment and I jumped on it! Picked up Thursday stopped and got the front windows tinted! Went home and slapped in a subwoofer, searched marketplace for some wheels and found these 5x108 that were on a Fusion. Michelin Pilot Sport 295/40R20 rear and 245/35R20 front. Had to stop and pick up some M14 x 1.5 black lug nuts! Still has a nice smooth ride in the city and highway! Excited to trick out this truck! Beefier tired coming as soon as these wear out! Tonneau cover arrives today from Rough Country!

is it just me or do the wheel wells look empty?
It's not you... I was thinking the same thing.

The best part about something I will call "enthusiast ownership" is that everyone's personalization is different. I am not a fan of the wheel/tire combination pictured on this truck. Yet, I love the OPs enthusiasm and excitement over the modifications they have made so far. We should celebrate their excitement and compliment them on personalizing their new Maverick.

Wheels make it look like a lowrider. All you need is the hydraulic actuators!

As an experiment before you change tires next time. Please put the 295 rears on the front to see if it clears turning in the front wheel wells. That is a 11' or so wide tire and some of us offroad guys would appreciate knowing what the cleareance up there is. If we could fit a 275 or 295 wide tire up front at a reasonable diameter that could be pretty sweet.

Nice looking rig, enjoy it!

You do realize the 295 that OP has now is less than 26" tall.. a 295 wide that short is going to fit very differently than a 295 that is taller... Seems like a waste of OP's time as it wouldn't do you "offroad guys" any good given it's such a short tire to begin with.

All that to say, what "offroad" 295 would you realistic even consider running on a Maverick? I literally can't think of one.

For 17" the only size that comes to mind is 295/70R17? NOPE
shortest 18" option would be 295/70R18? bigger NOPE
shortest 20" 295/55R20? still NOPE

Correct! It wouldn’t do any good to check clearance with a low profile tire. I work at a tire company and I’m about to slap some 245/45R20 (28.7 x 9.6) and 275/40R20 (28.7 x 10.8) this week. FYI stock 225/65R17 measures 28.5x 8.9! Going to order TPMS sensors first.

I seem to remember saying 275 or 295, but anyways a 295/40r20 has a diameter of 29". And there are plenty options in the 29ish" range for AT tires. So yeah have fun with all them NOPES.

Update on the new wheels! Installed 245/45R20 on the front and 275/40R20 on the rear. These wheels are 12” wide in the rear. Going to wear these out and go with 315/35R20 on the rear! Same O.D. as both these size just super wide! Already have them on order in the same brand!
