BFGoodrich has a brand new "Trail Terrain T/A" tire that seems like a good match for the Maverick. Seems like a direct competitor to the Falken Wildpeak AT Trail or the Cooper Discoverer AT3, for drivers that are mainly on road with light offroad use.

Here's the BFG page on it:

and here's a review on youtube:

Definitely going to check them out when the time comes for tires. I was looking at the Nitto Grappler G2. Not sure if I want something to off road since I plan to do a lot of highway driving.

Ford Maverick New tire that might be a good fit for the Maverick 907711EB-7AF7-40B7-8B14-7785DE33474A

Definitely has my interest....and certainly moved to the top of my list. May even be more competition by the time the Maverick finally arrives. Maybe I'll switch out those ATR's quicker than I thought. 😁

It looks like they have it in 225/65R17 so it should fit the same as the factory tires. They also have a 235/65R17/XL (I don't know what the XL means) that should match the size of the optional larger tires you can get from the factory. I wouldn't expect any rubbing at either of those sizes.

XL means extra load. For example a regular passenger car tire is load range C, extra load would be load range D. Maverick would not need an XL tire but it doesn't hurt anything except the tire weighs more.

I forgot about the Lariat and it's 18" wheels. I don't see a 225/60R18 so Lariat folks with the larger rims will not have the option for a 1:1 size match. At least not yet--they are still rolling out new sizes.

I'd love to see a direct comparison between these and the Falken Wildpeak AT Trail, which seems to be the most direct competitor. Both seem to be "light" versions of their regular all-terrain products (the Wildpeak AT3W for Falken and the KO2 for BFG) with better on-road performance and durability but still better than highway tires for occasional off road use.

Just found this video, it's of a new Bronco but should be the same for the Maverick. This guy easily configured his new tire size and pressure using OBD2 and a computer with FORScan program.

I'll probably grab the Wildpeaks since they're proven, but might check these out on my second set of tires.

Saw a local dealer yesterday putting tires on their Bronco Sports. Wildpeak 245/65R17s and 255/60R18s Terra Grappler G2 on stock wheels; Very tight fit!

As far as looks, I wish they would make a road tire with aggressive looking knobs on the side. I love the looks of AT tires, but don't think I would like the rolling resistance or noise

I am seriously considering getting winter tires as soon as the Maverick arrives, build is 2nd week of October. By the time Spring gets here I should see what others are swapping and what fits. Do you all think the stock Pirellis are that bad?
