Hello,

I haven't ordered my Maverick yet, but need to get it done soon. In the Ford builder I am trying to order the 4K towing package with the XLT Luxury package. The Ford builder only allows one or the other. I see that the XLT Luxury package includes a trailer hitch and 4 plug wiring harness, but does it come equipped with the transmission cooler and other items listed in the 4K? I need to tow a 4000 pound pontoon boat, so I want more that just a trailer hitch.

You can get both packages I just tried it myself . You have to have the FX 4 and towing package. You can add the Lux package with this combo with some extra cost. I originally had this order of my own but as you could see I changed my mind.

It appears to be working for me on the website.

The Luxury package does not come with everything you need for the 4k tow. Your dealer should be able to add both even if the website isn't allowing you to build it.

Does your boat weigh 4k or is that the total weight of boat trailer fuel xtras and people? The Mav may not be enough truck.

In order to get the 4K tow package, you also need to accept AWD. Are you trying to build a FWD version? Or a Tremor?

Unless Ford changed this for 2024,my 23 maverick XLT has 4k tow with luxury pkg. Sidenote,it tows our 3100 lb boat great!

I agree with this. The Maverick ecoboost probably can pull a 4k boat and trailer, but the gas mileage it gets doing so won't be pretty, and the ability to safely stop the load would be in question.

It would be better to step up to a Ranger with the Pro Trailer backup assist.

Regarding troubles with the build & price tool, don't try selecting a hitch manually. That's intended only if you don't get a package with a hitch included. When you select XLT, AWD, XLT Lux, 4K towing, you're done.

It is not bad at all. HOWEVER, I can't recommend this without in good conscience also mentioning that the 2.7TT is coming to the Ranger, eventually. maybe late '24, maybe it will get pushed all the way to '25. as good as the 2.3 is - and it's awesome, I have one in my Bronco - the 2.7TT is way better for towing. I personally would wait for it, and I expect it to be a 2-3k option. Yes, I'm saying I would pay $46k for a Ranger with 2.7TT, adaptive cruise and 7500 pound towing with pro trailer backup assist.

A comment for those who need a 7 pin connector vice a 4. I have a Saris Door County electric bicycle rack - it has an elevator/electric lift function and will accomodate 2 55 lb ebikes. The Ford dealer assured me a 7 pin to 4 pin adapter would work, but I contacted Saris. It will not. Brake lights, tail lights and turn signals would work but lift function requires 7.5 volts and the 7 pin connector. The rack stops about 4” from ground because of height of hitch on the Maverick, but easy to lift one wheel and roll forward and life the 2nd.
It does go to the ground on my Porsche Macan. I got my Maverick w/4k pkg from a different dealer and love it. The cargo hooks were removed when they did the spray in bedliner so they had to order replacements & install free.

I have FX4 XLT Lux, with 4k. Sometimes the ford builder website seems to not let you do some combos that you are able to do. I wish I could have had the Black Appearance Package too, but for some stupid reason you can't get it with FX4.

You were able to for the 2023 model year. Not sure why they don't allow us to do it.
