Hi! New Member here and back into mini trucks. Been lurking for awhile. Wanting a smaller truck for a few years. I liked my 14 lowered 2/3 Denali on 22s but missed the size and experience of my lowered 92 S10 with a 4/6 drop or the size of my 02 shaved Blazer Xtreme w 2/3 on 20s. Chevy / GMC isn't offering a street truck anytime soon. I used to be a heavy contributor over on s10forum from 2002 till about 2013.

Looked online at local dealers on Tuesday which 702a's were on the lots. 2 in my area. One of which was a canceled order. I drove off with it on Wednesday. No wait for me.

Already tinted it out this weekend.

Very much dislike the dinner plate wheels. Looking at black 20" inch rims, 8.5 wide and an offset of around 38 to 40 so I keep them tucked.

I plan to do a mild 2/4 drop on top of the current factory drop. No sure if I want to replace the coil overs or just do springs. I'll lurk threads and see what other folks are doing.

I do fiberglass work so I'll custom mold a couple of 10s under the rear seat. Factory sub behind the seat. Simple enough for a basic audio control lc2i pro to handle.

May do some performance upgrades but I'm more of an all show and no go kinda guy. Just need a reliable daily asphalt surfer to zip me around town.

Truck looks great other than them butt ass ugly wheels, that would be the first thing I'd replace once I took it home.

Reminds me as a kid watching Knight Rider and the fugly wheels on the firebird Kit

Not sure what the allure of them are, but over all people like them. I could see them getting pitted over a short time. I want something a bit more open. Plus I love a skinny tire on a big rim, and tucked to the fender. Always being on pot hole patrol makes you a better driver!

you'll easily be able to sell the turbofan wheels for more than a typical maverick oem wheelset will fetch. people do like them, but I would do the same as you and sell them with tires.

I unplugged the B&O 6x9 and used it as a line-in source for a kicker key 500.1 amp powering a single alpine r2 8" dual 2 ohm sub. I can't see any benefit in using the very low output 6x9 and if you completely remove it, you get some useful space for mounting your sub amp.

20s be here next weekend. Will swap the factory TPS sensors over when I get them mounted. I'll hold on to the factory rims and tires for a few months. Have a quote from Silvers for a set of coil overs with springs like colinl suggested, I plan to use an lc2ci pro tapped off the factory sub outputs. Factory sub will go in a box in the garage somewhere. Will leave other factory stuff alone for now. Im looking at doing a pair of sundown 10" sd shallows under the rear seats and a sundown salt amp to drive them.

Swapped the 19 inch dinner plates for some 20s. 20", 8.5 wide rim with a 40 degree offset. Rolling nitto g2 555s 245/45/20 tire. They tuck nice and no rubbing. Silvers lowering coilovers and springs coming up next. Debating about doing them myself or getting a shop to do it.

very nice. I bet it handles dramatically better on the summer tires than the stock 'high performance' all seasons!

Thanks! The stockers handled great. I felt planted pretty well and the truck drove great on the stockers. Only put about 300 miles on them. I feel a bit more planted if that makes sense with the new tires. They are a little over kill for my needs but I enjoy them. The new rim tire combo is about the same, maybe a little heavier.

Great project, looks really nice and I'm looking forward to the next updates ... I've always wondered how the MDF speaker baffle gets attached to the molded fiberglass box
