Is that an adapter for receiver hitch size?
not OP, but I think it’s an adapter to drop the level of the rack down. If you refer to my photo, the tailgate will hit unless you tilt down the rack. With OPs setup, you don’t need to worry about that. Alternatively it may be an adapter for size and to lower it at the same time offering a dual solution

Just wanted to add that I use a 1UP rack and I bought the license plate mod because I had got a warning from a police officer that they couldn’t see my plate because the rack was obscuring the view. To access the tailgate I also installed a 4” lower bracket to lower and extend the rack away from the tailgate so I can use it when not towing the bike

Say what you want but our little trucks are really useful and fun to own. It doesn’t matter if you are hauling your bike or 10 bags of mulch they are great.
I have been fortunate as I have not had the issues like some have had. I love the gas mileage. I get a thrill poking big oil in the eye by only buying gas once per month.
I use mine for treks to northern Michigan. I filled up before I left a week ago and I still have 300 miles to empty.

Wow, looks like a Status 160 mullet. I'm building up a Stumpjumper 130 29er. Gonna be a lot more XC favored than the Status. I'd have to take the Status 160 out to the Blue Ridge, it would erase my local trails.

I have a straight tube 10" hitch extender, not lowered. Bike sits high but I can drop the tailgate fully and maneuver behind the tailgate well. My rack isn't nearly as nice as a 1up but it does extend out a lot, leaving room for the tailgate. Try a longer hitch extender if you want to drop the tailgate fully.
It is a Status 160, my second full suspension bike, I also have a Stumpjumper as well

The adaptor is to lower the bike rack 4" so I can still access the tailgate when the rack is stowed away and not in use.
I see the drop. I just thought maybe the insert was a smaller size than the standard receiver hitch

I love my bike rack. It’s for two bikes and I got it for an E bike works great with a little ramp to get it up.

That's the Kuat. I have the same rack and its pretty sturdy even with 2 bikes. If you switch the tailgate cables to the upper posts and drop the cable behind the lower post, that will prevent the tailgate from hitting the rack when you open it.
