My Truck is lost

I was a logistics manager for 14 yrs w 100 Semi's and a bunch of other insignificant trucks There is no way a semi is disappearing, whether this is a single independent hauler or a company network. I quit this line of wk in 2014 and back then I could see instant real-time tracking, history etc. Now w electronic logging there is no hiding, illegal OT, fixing logs, etc. Somebody can tell you where that carrier is, it is just finding out who the trucking Co is to get that info.

I looked up your window sticker and it shows in transit as of today.

Ground transportation from the rail yard to the dealership has been an ongoing problem in the Midwest,, . Ford axed the contract with the old transporter and the backlog at the Kansas City rail depot is similar to the parking lots in Hermosillo.

The problem is that the Ford tracking system is reporting that has been delivered. Yes they need to resolve the transport issues but some of that is beyond their control.
However, they should have full control over the status that is reported to the customer and dealership. If the status was still in transit I would be frustrated by the delay but not worried that my truck is lost.

Yes that is why this is so frustrating, it has been over 2 hours and the dealer and Ford do not have an answer or they are not passing it on to me.

I currently have a XL EB on shipping hold in Fairfax, Kansas. Hope the backlog clears quickly and gets back on track to northern Ohio.

I was very tempted to do that yesterday but we had snow, it was getting dark, and I could not think of what I could realy gain from putting eyes on it, or not seeing it. The latest report I have from United Road (vehicle transport company) is that Ford put it on hold and they are waiting for direction from Ford.

Might be damage during shipment. Might be a missing chip hold, or an unofficial part 'recall' we know nothing about. Or something entirely different. All a guessing game at this point.

They probably discovered that a bunch of homeless people had a "soup kitchen" in your truck in transit. I'm sure they're recovering hair and bodily fluid samples right now. You can thank Dirty Mike and the boys.....

Perhaps the truck was filled with Mexican drugs, confiscated by U.S. DEA.

Yes, I am trying to think of this as an inconvenience and assume it will work out in the end. My key point from the original post was that it is the tracking system that is broken. If the vehicle is still in transit the status should never have been updated to delivered. After two days I still have no answers on what is going on. Frankly, if the status was still "Shipped" I would be frustrated by the delay but not upset and worried about the competency and trustworthyness of Ford.
There is a fair amount of fingure pointing going on but every one but Ford belives it is sitting in the rail yard. It should not take two days to figure out what is going on.

I can live with the fact that I ordered in June and that it took 6 months to get scheduled then 2 month to get built and even the fact that it took a month to get shipped. But now my truck is lost. Ford says it has been delivered to the dealer BUT the dealer does not have it and does not know where it is. It sounds like they are as frustrated as I am and are actively trying to get status from the rail yard. I do not blame the dealer, Ford needs to figure out how to track the production and delivery of their trucks.
I do not know if this is a problem with the tracking system but in my mind there is no reason for them to report the status you see below unless someone at the dealer signed a form that confirmed it was delivered. Mistakes like this may happen but it should not take days to figure out what is going on.
Update: I couldn’t resist asking, the dealership did get two Maverick deliveries yesterday but not mine. The plot thickens

OK that might make sense. The current theory is that it is still at the rail yard but they lost the key. No explanation o how the key was lost, they are supposed to be in the truck, or why it would take over two days to figure out what is going on.

I can't give you first hand information, but I do know that the yard is backed up with off loaded vehicles awaiting car carriers. The rail cars with trucks like yours shouldn't be affected.
