So I currently drive a 2019 Kia Niro PHEV EX, and my commute is 25 miles each way. I charge at home for "free" on my home solar, then charge at work for FREE as well. I have on order two Maverick Hybrids, both which are Lariat Luxury packages. Last year I drove 13k miles and only put $120.00 in gas in the car for the whole year! My dilemma is that I am just not a car guy, but I got the Niro just to save at the pump (not to mention the $4500 tax credit along with a $1500 cash from the state) which is currently $4.25 a gallon. What to do??? Sell the Niro and buy the Maverick or just keep the Niro???

Sounds like keeping the Niro is a no brainer for you.

Unless you read between the lines, or catch the important one...
... My dilemma is that I am just not a car guy...
This isn't a rational or economic question; the Niro works fine but the driver's not happy in a car.

If you need an open bed behind you, it'll be hard to find an option closer to the Niro's fuel cost. You'll never match a PHEV, but if you can afford to talk about buying a Maverick, upping annual fuel expenses to $1000 isn't the deciding factor.

If you've still got a lot good years in you, I'd wait a year or so; I firmly believe a Maverick PHEV is right around the corner.
