Somewhere on this MTC forum, quite a while ago there was a post about adjusting the computer to display the mpg correctly. In other words, take your 47.7 vs 49.7, figure the percentage difference, and change a setting and this will correct going forward.
If someone know where that post is please speak up!

667.6 / 14.008 = 47.7 MPG's which is close to the 49.7 shown on the display.

Still excellent fuel economy.

Agreed I thought the same after I ran through the math.
Also not surprising with city driving. The atkinson engines are efficient at high consistent speed, but not great for getting around a low speed. Also as noted, it charges the battery by idling the engine which is just fuel consumption.

Just put in my third tank of gas yesterday, first one came from the dealer :)
Using miles vs gallons of gas I am averaging 49.0 combined.
Highway commute every day 42.0 highway average.
So far, pretty damn happy.

Would it be more like the actual 683.1 miles / 14.008 = 48.7649914

I mean it does show 667.6 on the trip meter but i am guess the tank also include the other 15.5 miles the dealership and other drove.

Sometime the ICE engine will run to charge the HV battery or run to produce cabin heat or run because the AC is draining the HV battery.

I have had the display show "all electric-only mode" while driving and the ICE engine was running because one of the above were happening. So in this scenario the truck was driving on electric power but the ICE engine was spinning the motor/generator as a generator to charge the HV battery.

I don't believe you can interpret the non-electric miles as the only time the ICE engine runs.

A picture is worth a thousand words.
Unknown gas octane the factory or dealership put in the first tank.
98% city driving
Picked up from dealership on 4/13/22
Approx. 38 days driving

I filled my tank with regular octane this time and will post when that tank is used
After that I will fill with middle octane and then high octane. This will take about 80 more days to get those numbers

Thanks

Yep - I regularly get that and more - I drove 35 miles on the highway in traffic moving slowly - I was kind of ticked that we were only going 30 Mph on average - when I arrived the truck registered 51.5 MPG for the trip.... ok Not so Ticked I was stuck in traffic.

Ford Maverick My first tank hybrid fuel economy has me jumping for joy. 49.7 mpg / 401.6 electric miles / 667.6 total miles 52m

This was just letting the pump click off.

Wait a second... 13.8 gallon fuel tank bone dry, assume 1 gallon reserve, 14 gallons pumped... did you go zoolander on us? Next time, wake me up, before you go-go...

Screw all the other questions, I want to know where you paid $3.94... I thought $4.45 was my deal of the day... (Smh that nearly $4 is even considered reasonable for gas)

Does octane matter for mpg? I thought it only matters for engine knock on higher compression engines?
