The maverick with 4k package tows more than what they say it does I pulled a dump trailer loaded with a cord and a half of wood the other day (cord of wood is between 2000 and 3000 so anywhere from 3000 to 4500 in just wood) estimate was about 5.5k since it was oak and a big dump trailer and my maverick didn't have a problem with it. As far a basic I don't have leather air ride massaging seat but my truck is comfortable enough for my regular 5-6 hours of driving at a time for work. And as for the bed being small if it's a huge problem they sell a bed extender but I don't use it and seldom do I need to haul something over 9-10ft long and when I do I just strap it and flag it
AND I GET 30MPG on the Ecoboost

My response to the article:

1. I can carry bikes just fineā€”including a HUGE 29er mountain tandem.

2. It pulls my sailboat very easily.

3. Basic is good. I donā€™t want or need anything more, so Iā€™m glad that Ford isnā€™t forcing me to buy it.

!. Bed is bigger than the trunk of any car I've ever seen.
2. The last thing I towed with my '92 Mazda pickup was a small camper that was made to be towed behind a motorcycle. I don't own a couple of horses, nor a 36 foot camper.
3. 360 degree cameras are nice, but I've gotten by without them so far.

Curious on MTC's thoughts on this article. For me none of the downsides were downsides, just "limitations" that a traditional truck wouldn't have given their higher price and larger footprint.
WOW, where were these guys back in June 2021 when Ford provided ALL the info we owners knew going in.

Article's 3 points:

1. Innovative but small bed
2. Towing capacity isnt on par with other trucks
3. Overall a basic pickup

Opinionative and non-deal breakers for the majority. The author is nitpicking.
Not only nitpicking, but the author is like 10 months behind on WHY the Maverick came out in the first place. Not ONE mention about focus groups or DIY use. ........ I agree with others, article is stupid, dumb, and opinionated.

I do think the Maverick should have a 5 foot bed but that's the only thing I would change.

I have learned not to trust anything Motor Biscuit says as it just seems like sensationalist headlines to get clicks, and is unreliable.

Linking to them is just feeding the clicks they want.

Click bait article at best. The Maverick shouldnā€™t be compared to other trucks anyway, it should be compared to other vehicles at its price point. Like a Corolla for example. Small bed? Still 4 feet longer than the Corolla. Towing capacity? About 2k or 4K more than a Corolla. Basic? Yep, got us there. But considering the other features, do you want a feature packed car with no capability, or a basic truck with tons of capability? Iā€™ll take the Mav thanks.

vehicle manufacturers have a long history both plus and minus of stretching, or shrinking a vehicles capabilities. If the Maverick was seen to be a true truck, it would eat into F150 and Ranger sales. So.. did they lowball it. Ummmmā€¦

It was a brilliant and successful clickbait article because you clicked it. I won't repeat your mistake. Motor1 and MotorBiscuit and many other sites are known clickbait factories.
Theyā€™re just trolling. Donā€™t take the bait.

1. Shorter truck means a shorter bed. My F-250 is for serious hauling.
2. F-250 for towing.
3. All my Ford trucks have been XL work trucks, whether F-150, F-250, or F-350.
This "typical" truck buyer will be using the Maverick as an urban vehicle for parking ease.
