Absolutely time to sell. Why keep a vehicle you don't need?
I don't mean to come across as rude but they know their situation far more than we do. Obviously if they don't need the vehicle and they can actually make a profit on the sale they should do that. But if there's more to their situation that might make the decision less clear then they need to process that.

I did 2 XL rides this morning, out of 8 in 3.5 hours. Oddly, I have noticed it seems the offers are better driving the Flex. More higher paying reservation rides. Where I used to do $100 for 4 hours or so, it now is $120-$150 in 4 hours. It seems like the gas difference is well covered. I gained the higher paying XL rides, but lost the Lower (same as X class) Green rides. More of the XL riders tip too.
I honestly don't see the value going any higher, and I did put 27K miles on it. Maybe someone has the crystal ball. I don't.
One of the XL rides today was 2 women 11 minutes for $16 (including $5 tip), One was 1 woman to the airport 14 minutes $14 (No tip yet, but often times come later or next day). Yesterday was a single guy rider, $29 ride for 24 minutes, plus a $10 tip =$39. I wish they all could be XL's.
It's the same thing with Toyota Sienna Hybrids too (the current ultimate rideshare vehicle). Very few available in lower trims though. That might be key.
I don't think she will answer, since she died 26 years ago.
