My Maverick is built and on its way but I took my almost 16-year-old shopping today and wanted to get a comparison set of options. Sure, these are not all in the same class, but each is a compact/mid size with the available off-road package. I’m not going on the Rubicon trail even if I could. Is there any doubt the value that Maverick offers?

2019 Tacoma TRD OffRoad with 8K miles for $46K
2020 Gladiator Rubicon with 29k miles for $49,600
2020 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk with 18k miles for $32k
2022 Maverick 2.0 FX4 4K XLT Lux, 0 miles <$30k

I choose the Ford Maverick. No Brainer. BTW you can get a Mav w/o lux for better money.

You probably know which one we'll suggest. ;). Only thing to keep in mind is that even with FX4 the Maverick doesn't have a locking rear diff, or any torque vectoring at the rear beyond applying individual brakes. So you might be stuck if 3 wheels are off the ground. Only you know if you'll need that feature based on what trails you plan on taking.

For sure, the Maverick will be in my garage in about 3 weeks. The AWD will be plenty for my needs.

If 3 wheels are off the ground, I think torque vectoring will be the least of your problems...:sneaky:

Yep, give me the heated seats worth it in PA during January and February. One of the few must haves on my list. I didn’t even hesitate to click that box when I ordered. I, simply, won’t buy a vehicle without it. Like AWD, non-negotiable. I am willing to pay for what I want.
