My brother recently towed a Honda Civic Si with his FWD Maverick 2.0 EB and had zero issues with it. He towed the Civic about 50 miles @ 55mph to my home. This part of the country isn't flat. So there was a mix of hills and level ground.

Between the tow dolly and the vehicle, it was around 3600lbs.
He said the brakes worked perfectly.

You are just guessing. The limitation is transmission temperatures. Since only the 4K tow package provides the transmission cooler running a trailer over the 2K recommendation is risky. Better watch the transmission fluid closely. If it turns brown you will know why.
Got any experience with direct read obd dongles that read trans temperatures in real to time? I'm thinking of buying one for my Mav and pontoon.
