This is just something I learned recently. In case anyone else didn't know, the tailgate weight limits are:

Half position: 400 lbs
Full down position: 500 lbs

Where did you find this?
I saw documentation that it is 500lbs fully down.

Not true. There has been misinformation regarding this.

Full down: 500lbs

I heard/saw it as well… so, I’m gonna defend the post. One of the early reviewers stated the tailgate limit was 300 lbs. This stood out as I see this could be an issue; say at tailgating before the game…

Tailgate limit stated at approximately 19:15 minutes into video

He does fantastic work but I believe he was misinformed here.

From a Forbes Article:

" Turns out, there is, including easy ways to customize your own storage solutions using 2x4 or 2x6 pieces of lumber that fit into pre-stamped slots in the Flexbed, strapping things in place using one of the eight tie-downs or adding your own lighting options using the built-in 12-volt outlets. The multi-position tailgate can hold 400 pounds in mid-position and 500 lbs when fully open. Even when it's closed, the bed should be easy to access for many adults thanks to the Maverick's lower ride height compared to a full-size truck like an F-150. The Maverick is 68.7 inches tall vs. 75.6 inches for an F-150. "

I'm not saying Forbes is the best at reliable information, but it seems totally wrong for it to be 300 down/400 mid. Both this article and that video were posted on June 8, but I just think the actual limits are 400 mid/500 down.

You're correct, Demuro was wrong :)

This also equates to 20,000 Oreos in the full down position.

Do I dare correct the expert?!

A standard package of Oreos weighs 14.3oz - 500lbs would be 559 packages of Oreos.

at 45 Oreos per package, you are short changing us by 5,174 Oreos!

Unless you were calculating for the angled gate position?

Incorrect sir, a 14.3 oz package of standard Oreos contains approximately 36 cookies. You're thinking of the Family Size package!

But are they double stuffed? Who wants just a standard package of Oreos?

All I know is that I took one step on mine and then wished that I hadn't. It didn't feel secure. And no, I'm not 300 or 500 lbs.

Even with kids it creaks. I won't trust a full grown adult to sit on it!

And even if it's true about the 500lbs weight limit, the truck feels light weight that it squats with a slight weight added to the tailgate

On a side note, anyone know the weight limit of the hard top roll tonneau cover?
