Yes, not practical as a daily driver but this was custom built as a project feature vehicle by the shop to showcase their efforts and customization ability.

Cheap as the XL hybrid is as a canvas, it can't be long before someone takes a white one, whites out the bumpers and black trim, ads a white hard-shell tonneau cover, lowers it, puts 20"wheels on it, upgrades the interior, and paints two blue Shelby stripes front to back.

Then for some extra pep to match the look, ads electric motors to each rear wheel (some engineering required).

Gotta be a market for that.

Everyone is going to have different tastes- kind of amazed that the dissenters among us on this particular build can’t appreciate at least the effort involved.
I guess today is the day it really dawned on me that what we did in HS is now retro….I am good with that, but give me this over a restored Bel-Air and some old lady in a poodle skirt all day, because it is my nostalgia and well, it is rad.

I really like it, I lived through that time and never had the funds to build a Mini truck. This truck may end up being my Mid life crisis.

They are obliviously very talented people that I respect, but the vehicle is just not my cup of tea, just don't care for that kind of stuff. Different strokes for different folks. In the end, I applaud their efforts and talent!!

This was purpose built to show the ability of that shop to customize. To that end it is a great example of hard work and ability to go from a vision to a finished piece.
WELL DONE!
This shop will get work from those folks that want a show piece or those that want great custom paint.
I enjoy those that can take stock vehicles and make them something special. Can be paint, wheels, engine mods or whatever. Like some say nowadays, DO YOU.
The Mav is a great vehicle. leave it stock or build it to some extreme. Do anything in between. Enjoy your truck!

Just seen this on "car fix" tv show belongs to the one host and he was doing tribute style back the mini truckin' days he always wanted to do a brand new truck & as the xl is cheap... they were doing a huge sound system on the show
