I installed the Raptor style grill on my Hybrid Maverick. Painted the FORD to match the Hot Pepper Red. I like the way it looks, I wanted something in the grill to pop rather than just all being Black. I hooked all the lights to the Passenger side Marker Light in the bumper and then wired the turn signal portion of the white lights to the correct side turn signal wiring in the Headlights. Yes the lower white lights are a switch back sequential turn signal. All in all a nice clean and fairly easy install, took me a couple hours and some of that time was cleaning the back of the bumper cover and the radiator core support and active grill shutters.

I have the grille coming myself and really like the painted FORD. Where did you get the paint and did you use a primer and clear coat?

I mean the execution of self installing is good but imho it's too much over the top and really cheapens the look of the Maverick. Its just my opinion no offense at all meant. Since you really like this please disregard my opinion. Again, your execution was good.

I got mine from Touch Up Direct. I used my own primer that I have used for other painting projects and it ended up crinkling the paint and messing it up, I had to strip the paint and restart with Touch Up Directs Primer, it then turned out really good. You can buy it all as a kit in spray form with their primer, color coat and clear coat. They have all the colors for the Mavericks. I scuffed up the letters with a red Scotch Brite pad and cleaned with soap and water and rinsed off well. Primer and all went on really nice and the final product turned out looking good.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If everyone liked the same thing the world would be a pretty boring place.

On a positive note, the color matching idea was spot on! I think it ties it together. If left black or grey, it wouldn't be as striking

They came with it. It looks like there might be two different options, ones with the additional lights and one without. I think the ones with look better.

This is a excellent video on the install of one of these done by member Shay from Test Driven TV.
This is the video I used to help me with the install. Very helpful and in depth.
