Hello,

I have been a long time viewer on the forum. Was able to get my Maverick in June of this summer for MSRP at Red Rock Ford in Dickinson, ND. It is the XLT with the Lux and FX4 package. I was able to collaborate with GFC and they have built a camper for it that is now available for purchase!

I added 245/65/17 Toyo AT tires and some Fifteen52 rims. Have not driven the truck enough to see the change in fuel economy with tires/camper. But I was getting 25-30 MPG with the camper and stock rims/tires.

I love the way the Mav drives. The 2.0l Ecoboost and 8-speed is so smooth. I use the Mav as my daily and have absolutely no regrets on this set up. The camper allows me to store my gear securely in the bed, but still allow me to camp as I regularly commute to Glacier and the Tetons.

Feel free to ask me any questions. The GFC team has been great and has a precise walk around video of the build.

Good looking rig!
Does the tent floor lift up to allow you to stand up in the bed?

Thanks! Correct: the tent floor is removable where you have a full standing area inside the camper if you so choose.

This is ridiculously expensive… but by far the best solution to truck camping provided on a Maverick to date. Looks amazing!

What’s been the impact to mileage?

Really stoked to see one of these for the mav…but with just the FWD hybrid I’m not sure it’s quite the right fit for me right now…

I just put the 245 tires on this week and need to do more driving before I have any good data. But the camper with the stock 225 tires, I saw normal gas mileage around 25 mpg with city/hwy. Sure, in a direct excessive head wind, the fuel economy would drop from normal. But I didn’t see much of a difference from driving with a camper to no camper. This was a normal highway drive from downtown to my house doing 70-75 mph with the camper:

I think the hybrid fuel economy with the camper could be unreal!!!

Expensive? It's only 8k more than what some people paid for a maverick.
I thought it was a typo. That's unreal
I agree! When you add up what a nice tonneau cover costs, roof top tent, or topper, I believe this thing is a steal. Especially since it is American made. Most campers nowadays are way over $10k.

Yes, it keeps my gear nice and dry!
Nice. My concern was just because of the whole unibody cap issue with no where for water to go. However I suppose that 98% of that is covered by the over cab coverage. Then the rest held back by a seal would likely evaporate. Not that I have that issue in Hawaii but I would keep an eye on it during winter this year for freezing water.
