Similar story in my area. There were some sitting stagnant on lots for $10K markup, but now they're $5-7k, and still not selling. None of them are Hybrids.
Gas is on the rise again and with the current policies in place that trend will continue. As a result the prices on just about everything will continue up. The hybrid will be in high demand with low supply for the foreseeable future.

Most in my area are actually hybrids with only a couple of eco boost... makes it more interesting

See below... people finally wised up that $5-10K is a lot of gas

Are people not paying more for the AWD 4K capabilities?

Not sure what you mean, was responding to hybrid demand and gas prices.... in my area the hybrids are not selling with a $5K mark up....they could get $10K at one point but people have stopped paying it

I see yes I'm sure the hybrids are demanding less in certain regions for sure since they don't have AWD. I just can't imagine any of them going under MSRP even in lower demand areas. You are right though paying 10k over MSRP for a Maverick is insane. Certainly in urban environments the hybrid will continue to have high demand especially as fuel prices continue upward.

just read an article from Ford Authority on FB. They quoted dealer inventories for Mavericks in September was just under 4000 units. There are right at 3000 dealers. It wouldn’t let me post the article or I would have. It looks like market adjustments will be here for a while yet.
My small local Ford dealer has 10 Mavs in stock for sale. Of the 10, 4 are hybrids. The gas models show ADM of $4k, the hybrids usually show ADM of $9k but now it says "Call" for price on hybrids. At one point they had 13 Mavs for sale. Encinitas Ford, Encinitas CA 92024. Encinitas is a suburb of San Diego along the coast, 22 miles north of downtown San Diego.

** Acceptable yeah but he'll never be as cool as you.

It's just useful info to the topic. Nobody is buying hybrid off lots for $800 under sticker. There is a reason for that but if I needed what AWD, multilink rear suspension, and 4k tow provide I would have done the same as you. I don't. I seriously doubt you are seeing over 40mpg routinely but again for what you wanted in a truck the lower MPG is acceptable.

Last month, Spoted a 2023 Black XL at a very small dealer, they wanted 32900 a 9500 markup.
It did not have the original window sticker, but a used car one... and has 16 miles on the odemeter...
Truck was gone the next week I passed through...

My understanding is that all Mavericks are built for specific customer or fleet orders. Any new Mavericks at a dealer that are not on their way to a customer are ones that are refused by a customer. Or the dealership is doing something unscrupulous to scam the customer out of the order.

Given the popularity of the Maverick and the posts on this site, it seems to me the ones at dealer lots are likely be a dealership scamming the customer by charging a huge mark up on the order. So the customer walks away.

I'm sure their are cases where the customer changes their mind for whatever reason, but if a dealership has a lot of unclaimed Mavericks, could it be an indication of a scammer?

Saw one sold today with a 5k market adjustment and the dealer had it on the lot less than a day. I think the market for Mavericks stays hot for a while even as the market for higher priced trucks cools.
Can confirm. Picked mine up Monday 9/25 and my guy said if I didn't take delivery, they'd mark it up 5-5.5k and it'd be gone within a few days.

Even here with a $2K markup (sold as a package) The Lariats seem to not be selling as well as there has been a couple of hybrid lariats that have been there a few weeks now.

Yeah I doubt they will go under MSRP anytime soon, but we are seeing them more and more so I don't think it will be to many more months and we will see them at MSRP, and makes me wonder if in another 6-8 months will they start to pile up. Seems like the 24 price increase has helped slow it down for sure.

One dealer has a lot of them, every couple of weeks it seems like a whole new batch coming in and it will be about 15 at a time. 3 or 4 will be reserved.

I'm not convinced Ford is only building for orders at this point.... but hey I don't know.... I could be wrong for sure

I just checked yesterday in the south central Texas area. Everyone I could find on the lot had at least a 5K markup on it. Found one Lariat Hybrid in Cyber Orange that was manufactured in July. Still sitting on the lot. Almost 42K before TTL. I've waited this long and will continue to wait for my 24.
