4,000lb tow with a Hybrid? I don't think so.

I am referring to Alex on Autos who towed 4000lb with a EB. His mileage was about half when towing.

In a daily driver

He had reset the trip meter before he did the 4,000 tow. That's why its low.

First: there was nothing in this video showing any towing.

Second: this video was on a Hybrid thus it is incapable of towing 4000 lbs.

Correct. The lariat has a laminated windshield.

I really really doubt it. Auto makers only usually do this on performance vehicles to make it seen more familiar or natural, but the hybrid already sounds strange with the eCVT keeping the revs up. The appeal of hybrid isquietness and fuel economy. Fake noises are out of character

The only fault I have with this is that they didn't take the truck onto any city roads. You know, like the beauty shots of the Maverick they shot all over downtown San Diego?

Ah I maybe misread the first question about fake sound — I’m wondering if there is external artificial (i.e. safety) sound since the hybrid can theoretically be in EV mode at pedestrian-injuring speeds, and also the ICE can turn off during deceleration at even higher speeds, right? I saw that there’s an artificIal backup sound from video reviews since thats EV only in reverse.

Ohh, yeah there definitely is that. It’s legally mandated. It sounds reasonable on the Fusion Hybrid and I imagine it’s the same.
The Toyota sound is out of this world…
