Meh, Side x Side would have done the same trail in 30 seconds vs 10 or 15 mins.😆😆

Just keeping it real. I'm sure it will suite most people on muddy back roads and such. This ain't no rock climbing, mud pit jumping vehicle...but I'm fine with that.😉
But the side by side would be more expensive and can't tow a Maverick on the highway ;)

😆 Sure it is!
Well some of them are. Depends on the model.
In my state you can drive Side x Sides on the public roads.
Had a supervisor at a former job. That use to drive his to work.

I'd like to see that, Side x Side towing a Maverick.😆

Looks like I'm going to be scouring the internet to find a locker for the rear.
I'm hoping somebody will come up with a way to lock the rear axle at low speeds or crawl speed and bypass all the computer stuff. Just for situations where you really need it.

The Bronco Sport has an optional clutch type diff locker. Surprised they didn't put it in the Maverick. Maybe they will next year.

I am guessing what we saw was what the designers had in mind for the Maverick. Keep in mind the price point. Down the road there will be upgrades but the price point will climb too. I saw enough on the video to make me satisfied with what I am buying. Didn’t buy it to off road, bought it for winter weather, maybe some sand but most importantly MPG and versatility. Just my opinion

The issue here is no articulation - between the stiff suspension and the Unibody construction with no body flex - as soon as 2 wheels are off the ground you won't go anywhere. This is not an off road vehicle - it's an AWD on road vehicle - probably will be fantastic in snow. This is why I went with the FWD only version. I don't see this truck as a good off-roader so why bother.
What about sand beach?

Turns out the reviewers say it's electronics help it a lot when 2 wheels are off the ground and it might walk in sand. But still better to have a lot of articulation. You want more like a Tacoma for that.

Thanks.
There are a lot of videos and information about trucks crawling, in the mud, trails, etc, but there are not reviews or tests in beaches.
