Now I see why I'm seeing so many more on the road. +80% production increase.

I got mine on x-plan thankfully, but will still be a little upset when we start seeing incentives on the Mav.

Nice to see so many on the road though. More parts to go around in the future 🙂.

What's up with the new Ranger. Seems like they are not selling.

Doesn't surprise me. I went to a ford dealership and saw a few rangers sitting in-between the f150s. there's hardly any size difference. They're way too big and expensive for what they are.

It's an awkward stop-gap between an f150 and a maverick. if you actually need a truck for truck things, you might as well fully commit and get an f150. if you don't actually need a truck truck, then a maverick will do 99% of what most people need, and anything more than that you can just rent a truck for the 1 day a year you need to.

If they made a body-on-frame truck that was the size of the maverick and offered 2/4 door configs, with a 6000lbs towing capacity, 1500lbs payload capacity, a hybrid option and called it a ranger, it would probably sell like crazy. The mini-f150 is just too big and doesn't make any sense.

Same as every mid size truck. Cost & nothing impressive about them. And that butt ugly interior/dash.

Lots of lightly used and new full sizes in the same price range, especially the F150's currently.

I'm surprised people are still buying the Edge. Or that FORD is even bothering with them anymore. I wonder how much longer that will last.

You don't have to wonder anymore, '24 is the last model year for the Edge and production has already ceased. I had a Edge for a loaner car and I actually liked it.

I think was intended to be the bridge between the Escape and Explorer, but most people chose one or the other instead. Especially with the interior being essentially the same as the Escapes, just nicer seats.

A rule of thumb in the industry is that you lose money until production reaches 80% of factory capacity. Then you basically print money. A quick Google search got me what I wanted (percent of capacity at Hermosillo). It appears that Ford is basically printing money at Hermosillo.

https://mexicobusiness.news/automotive/news/fords-hermosillo-plant-hits-7-million-units-produced#:~:text=Currently, the Hermosillo plant operates, capacity of 300,000 units annually.
The notorious "Yeah-But" however: Operating at 121.3% capacity, one can understand why they pump out vehicles with small things overlooked here and there. The only thing noticed on my 2024 XLT Hybrid so far has been a taillight unit that wasn't fully attached. (Driver's side forward edge. Fixed when photo taken, I think.) A visiting friend and very early Maverick Hybrid buyer noticed it for me while admiring my new arrival. My local dealer (and the seller) ordered new parts, but when fixing, discovered parts were in place, just not attached to each other.

For my Maverick, I hope that was the only oversight... a minor one, but makes one wonder what else might have been overlooked.

I'm with you there on fuel economy, Broncovet.
I will be replacing a 1996 Dodge Ram 2500 truck - and its 6.5 mpg fuel usage. And any day now it will need new tires (current ones dated 2007!). Just got to keep it chugging along a bit longer.
