Today I installed Mabett mudflaps on my 2024 lariat. Installation was a breeze. But my concern is on both rear installations. The screws that you need to remove for installation were extremely loose. I unscrewed them with just finger tips. No tools needed. It was actually somewhat worrisome. I hope other important screws on my Maverick are tighter than these were.

In my opinion it doesn't hurt to check. I know others on here have mentioned bolts being loose under the engine area I watched one guy post a video doing a rear diff fluid change and had both the drain and fill plugs pretty loose from the factory.

I crawled under mine when new and checked as many bolts and nuts as I could get to under the motor and all were snug/tight that I could reach.

The screws you mention were quite loose on my 24 XLT FX4 were finger tight as well.

Were the mudflaps improved to cover the hole in the left rear flap?

These particular mudflaps hang lower and are wide so that gaping area on the driver side in the rear seems protected. I’m still gonna buy the cover from Mabett to further protect all the wiring that’s up in there.

I just installed the same mud flaps today. I was a bit worried myself when they didn't seem all that tight when I went to unscrew them. Maybe the're screwed into plastic inserts. Will be keeping on eye on those.

When I reinstalled those screws, I was able to get them to be fairly tight. I didn’t want to over tighten them and strip anything out, but I got them to be pretty snug.
