I purchased the wheels prior to having my Maverick and probably shouldn't have. They are 18x8 and +40. After test fitting them front and rear i loved the style. I knew I was going to have them powdercoated but hadn't chosen a color. After months of indecision I finally made a choice on color, copper burst dormant. The part I messed up on was not verifying that the 14x1.50 tuner style lugs would fit. I had them powdercoated, had tires mounted and then went to install them. Everything went great until the lugnuts lol, they do not fit. The manufacturer and the place I bought them swear the lugnuts fit, they are nowhere close to fitting. So my options are wheel spacers to get a smaller stud which 12x1.50 or 1/2-20 lugnuts do fit or swapping out the factory wheel studs. Spacers would work if I wanted the wheels to poke which I dont so it looks like I'm going to get intimate with the wheel assemblies on this thing. I will be pulling a stud tomorrow to measure things so I can get the right parts. Anyway don't forget to check that whatever wheels you choose will work with the 14x1.50 lugs. 30 years of turning wrenches professionally and I skipped over the simplest of things. Don't be like me lol.

Are the lug nuts too wide or not deep enough?
I see the pics of the wheels (look great .. like HPR?), but do you have a pic of
the lug nuts you are working with?

Have you thought about the spline type?

Doh! M14 studs are new to me as well, not yet on wheel choices but simply the high torque they require, already broken my 1/2" to 3/8" adapter and it's impact rated!

Would smaller M12 stud spline seat and press into hubs designed for M14 studs?

How far off are the lugnuts from fitting onto your wheels? Some aftermarket M14x1.6 lugnuts do have smaller 13/16" hex instead of 7/8", you might be able to reduce those lugnuts taper diameter by turning them on a lathe just enough to fit.

hope you find a solution without to much trouble, those wheels look great. 👍

You saying the lugnuts won't tighten all the way down due too the studs being to long and rim being too shallow?

The shank holes will only allow for a max lugnut diameter of .810, the smallest 14x1.5 duplex tuner or spline drive lugnut is .910 I tried Mcgard and Gorilla spline drive and a set of amazon special duplex tuner lugs. I will not make this mistake again lol.

I'd imagine it's because a lot of these aftermarket wheels are designed to be used with M12x1.5 studs so their recessed holes are sized for M12 lugnuts. Maverick has M14x1.5 studs which are more truck sized and the lugnuts are too wide to fit into these particular wheels.

Plus 5x108mm PCD is also not as common with aftermarket wheels. Subaru WRX and FRS has similar limited selection because they use 5x100mm, where as almost all wheels come in 5x114.3 for majority of (Japanese) cars.

That means you only have to turn ~0.05"/1.3mm radius off of each lugnuts on a lathe to get them to to fit. As long as you can get a socket to fit into your wheel you can still make it work. 👍

Worst come to worst you can get someone who redrills wheels to redrills and enlarge your shank, might look cool with silver shank holes adding a little bit of contrast.

I was gonna suggest a set of Bimeccs like I had to for the also small lug pockets on my Voxx wheels, but the socket for those is right at .910 as well.

Maybe some internal drive lug nuts? Similar to these ones on initial search although you'll want to do your own checking on quality, etc.

Good find. Though curious how those spline drive would hold up to 148lb/ft.

14mm lugnuts only require 80-90 ft lbs torque. i ordered a set and will see if they work prior to swapping studs out.

Just saying Maverick's owners manual specifically says 148lb/ft
