Truck looks Great !!! Tints look awesome !!!
Unfortunately in South Florida 20% is the maximum on the front two doors and they do enforce these laws because it’s easy money 💰, it’s bad enough that we have to be constantly looking for red light cameras.

I do tint the front windshield with 0-5% for the heat.

The percentage of the tint should be the amount of light it lets through. A 0-5% tint would be limo tint you couldn't see through.

Currently our Genesis came with 70% tint on windows straight from factory.

Looks freaking great :) I have "every" new vehicle I buy tinted rear and back windows limo, front sides medium, and I even have my windshield done with UV, which helps a TON with heat deflection, and glare on wet roads, especially at night.

Laws, shmaws.... Yes, technically speaking, in CA its illegal to have the front sides tinted "at all"... and its also illegal to do anything to the windshield... But our cops are too busy with murders, car jackings, armed robberies, etc, to mess with silly little chit like this.

I've had 5 brand new vehicles tinted at the same place, in the last 13 years, and not one of them has ever peeled, lifted, or bubbled. I guess their is a reason they give a lifetime guarantee :)

California has one of the toughest Tint Laws in the country. Your truck looks fantastic but is just a question of time until they pull you over. First time you get only a warning and are asked to remove the tint. Second time 25 dollar ticket and order to remove the tint. Third time 200 dollars.
Along with every other law in the PRC (People's Republic of California). The only people that have to worry are those trying to live as legal law-abiding types, it's almost impossible. [I'll probably get "moderated" for this one too 😆]

Limo tint 0-5% you can't see through > from the outside. Its pretty easy to see out of during the day though. I do my front sides in 70% and my rear sides and back in 5%. In CA its illegal, but they almost never enforce it. I've been tinting my windows for 40 years and never been hassled for it.

Correction; I do my front sides in 30%. 70% is not very dark at all.

Just about 2 weeks of ownership with this truck and I’m loving it more and more by the day. The ride is great, the road noise is almost nonexistent, the acceleration is smooth and quick, it’s very comfortable, and the Area 51 far exceeded my already-high expectations. It looks different every time I walk outside. My only minor complaint is the engine noise. It’s a bit loud on acceleration, almost reminds me of a 2-stroke dirt bike, but it still sounds strong and has tons of power and response.

Got the windows tinted today - limo tint on the doors and back and then 50% tint on windshield. Love how it turned out. Hopefully these pics can help some others with an Area 51 coming to see what it will look like. I’m happy to answer any questions anyone may have.

that dark window tint on side windows isn't legal in CA is it? I lived there until a few years ago and remember people getting ticketed for dark tint because it's a safety issue for cops coming up to your window and not being able to see clearly inside.

Funny you mentioned 2-stroke like acceleration! That's exactly what I thought when I test drove a 2.0 and the turbo kicks in- a little extra oomph like my bikes coming on the pipe

I’m talking about 20% total sun blocking on the front side windows, and zero to 5% sun blocking on the front windshield. In South Florida it’s the Heat Blocking that you need, It’s like an inferno here.

Someone mentioned you can even get a clear film that blocks the majority of sun heat. Is that true?

Drove a Larait and XLT, Lariat was definitely quieter.
I test drove a 2022 Ford Edge with 2.0 & 8-speed and it was quiet unless you really stomped on it and it downshifted for more revs, and then recently a Maverick XLT 2.0 and it was pretty similar. I am deaf on 1 side and higher frequency loss on the other side, so maybe I'm just not that sensitive to it. Then again, on our F-150 with 5.0 Coyote V-8 exhaust note is REALLY noticeable when you punch it- but I like that! :ROFLMAO:

That would be 80% on front/sides and 95% front. It's a bit confusing but it is based on the amount of light let pass rather than blocked.
Ford Maverick Loving Area 51 Maverick XLT FX4 more each day, especially after limo tint + 50% windshield tint (owner's review) 1634482397555

Tinting laws are defined by the fed's. But each state is allowed to enforce at their discretion. Got a ticket in Iowa for $138 in an out of state rental car....Iowa tends to be enforcers to the letter of the fed laws....but small towns that need more revenue do some times enforce tinting laws. Thought I'd fight it but Iowa patrolman that gave me the ticket at a weigh station gave me a copy of the federal regulations. According to the federal regulations, front windows can not be tinted except by the manufacturer (I think mfgers can only do 70% tint on windshield ....but patrolman admitted some states do not enforce any of the tint laws, but some only enforce them on "federal highways". Most states also have their own tinting laws. As others have said and I totally agree, I look for the faces at intersections to try to see which way someone is going to turn and see if they see me...especially when I'm on a motorcycle.
Pretty sure State and local cops can’t enforce Federal Laws unless sworn in as Federal Agents…. Even on Federal Highways…. They are governed by State Laws or Local Ordanences:

I didn't get that impression personally. Is this your first time driving a turbo vehicle? My 2.0 non turbo Focus is much louder than this Eco 2.0 and produces 90 less HP. I am sure if it really bothers you an engine cover and maybe some under hood and firewall insulation could help. If you don't have a Lariat you can look into acoustic windshield films as well. It won't be as good as a factory installed one sandwiched between glass, but I am sure these will be available aftermarket at some point if you ever need to replace a windshield.
Yes, I have the Lariat and I find it very quiet.

WELL I THINK IN TODAYS WORLD MOST POLICE DO NOT LIKE DARK WINDOWS. HOW WOULD LIKE TO WALK UP TO THE DRIVER SIDE (OR EVEN THE PASSENGER'S SIDE) AND NOT SEE WHO IS INSIDE AND THAT THEY HAVE A GUN POINTED AT THEM . WHY DON'T YOU WANT TO BE SEEN. AND WHEN YOU DRIVE IN YOU NEIBORHOOD YOUR FRIENDS CAN'NT WAVE, THEY CANNOT SEE WHO IT IS OR WHAT YOU MAYBE WAVING BACK. I LIKE TINTED WINDOWS, BUT ONLY ON THE REAR (LEFT, RIGHT AND BACK REAR0.
That's why state laws typically don't allow the front side windows to be as dark as the back windows. And no need to yell. :)
