Sounds like it's already happening!
You hit the nail on the head! that's why Ford dropped the extra cost for the EB, so they can tell people that ordered Hybrids, If they want their Maverick, it will come as a EB at no extra cost.

2024 Ridgeline hybrid… just putting it out there… maybe it will come into fruition if I don’t get my maverick…
I'd just go without before buying a ridgeline.

Not bad theory. Still think a lot of people would turn it down. I have limited to no interest in a 25mpg vehicle.

Long Mcarthur taking orders for 795 Mavericks is just greedy and careless. They are going to have fun explaining to 500+ "buyers" that their orders won't be built after waiting all year to get one. Glad I decided to order locally, my dealer took 45 Maverick orders for 2023. I have at least a 50% chance or better of getting one.
You think they're going to have less than 300 orders built of the ones they took? They have 66 allocations for the first month.

My order is not with @fordvideoguy but claiming they're greedy/careless for taking orders is asinine. They have 795 orders because they have people wanting to order with them from around the country thanks to the reputation that they have built. I'm not sure they'll get all 795 built, but I can pretty much guarantee you they're not going to be explaining to "500+" people that they're not getting built.

IIRC - They had almost 600 orders for MY22. The first month of MY23 allocation (66) should mostly take care of the rollovers, per Tim's live stream.

I'd say you have just as good a shot with him as anyone else.

The problem isn't so much with their total of 795 orders, the problem is that ~80% of those 795 are Hybrid. Ford isn't going to send LM Ford ~80% Hybrids and only send Ecoboosts to every other dealer.. Ford cannot build to the hybrid/ecoboost split that LM has on their order books, let alone at that quantity. LM may very well recieve 500-600 2023 Mavericks, but there's no way 80% of those are hybrids.. maybe they deliver 250-300 Hybrids next year. That's still leaving them with more Hybrid orders unfulfilled than Hybrid orders delivered for 23MY..

They had 500 orders last year and 88 still remaining to be built.
I do think that nearly 60% more orders from last year is excessive

I thought the same- until I driven in several new ones as possible backup. I cancelled my reservation for another attempt at a maverick. So Ford don’t fail me again.

Are you sure that 500 number wasn't 581? That number sticks out in my head, which is why I said "around 600". Either way, their rollover rate was 15-18% which seemed about the norm from what we could tell.

I might be thinking of this the wrong way, but I don't think at the dealership level they should be concerned about the 65/35 split. Ford closed orders early and the hybrids earliest. Just because the overall build quantity is 65/35 doesn't mean that is what every dealer will get. I suspect LM will fulfill most of their orders for MY23 as they did for MY22.

The dealership I ordered my hybrid from apparently had more Ecoboost orders. They rolled over double the amount of ecoboosts as they did hybrids. So it might work out just fine.

"We will sell over 500 2022 Mavericks"

That's the quote i saw. Not sure if that is closer to 500 or 600.

"We had 591 orders, 11 canceled. So out of 530 without the rentals which we gave a priority 12 instead of 10, we have 49 ecoboosts and 60 hybrids unscheduled still with 10 allocations left. So we should get down to 421 out of 530 that will get produced in 2022. "

Maybe 530 without whatever the rentals are.

2024 Ridgeline hybrid… just putting it out there… maybe it will come into fruition if I don’t get my maverick…
I drove a 2011 Honda CR-V for over 215k miles, great vehicle. Biggest downsides on a Ridgeline (even Hybrid):
1) They currently start at $38k; hybrid would probably be $42k+, even for bare bones
2) They’re a little big (210” long instead of Mav’s 199.7”)
3) The Ridgeline targets a larger payload (5k towing capacity) - it’s more in the low-end F150 class than Maverick.

Honda would be better served basing a Mav competitor on the CR-V platform than that of the Ridgeline. There’s already a proven hybrid power train, and the translation from CR-V to compact truck would be much like Ford basing the Mav on the Escape & Bronco Sport.

I had mine since 1984.
Was born in ‘91, but this one is my second Vista Cruiser. My first one was bought in 2017, a ‘72. My ‘73 was purchased in 2020. The crusher and demo derbies took these 73+ wagons all away, not many left. Parts unobtainium (Mavericks are easier to come by). Found this one in Chicago—again, small world.

I was listening to hear how many Tremor orders he took in. Anyone hear that? @fordvideoguy ? I wonder how many of those are new vs MY22 rollover?
I was wondering the same thing I ordered a XLT Tremor pretty basic when it comes tooptions. It would be nice to know how may of us are in line for the Tremor at Long McArthur
