Locked the doors and when I returned from the store, the key fob did nothing. Acted as if it needed new battery. The last time this happened I used the key to open the door and it activated the alarm but still unlocked the door. This time, I used the Ford app and that worked fine. Too bad Ford eliminated the keypad,
Has anyone else had this problem? 2024 XLT hybrid. 4000 miles?

Is only one key acting like that? If so, try changing battery in fob?

You should be able to purchase a keypad for it at the dealership.

If you do that, how is the key pad attached to the truck?
I checked into that and the keypad is stuck on the truck with some adhesive, and battery operated. Not cost effective in my opinion. Not sure of any color options for it and the one I saw was white.

Not yet, but I drove 50 miles this morning mostly at 50-60 mph; after I parked & locked it, I used key fob to unlock it twice to get some tools out~~~ suddenly got the dreaded " deep sleep, you need to drive your truck to recharge battery" message.
How many miles do ya have to drive to keep this from happening so quickly?

That happened to me once so far. My husband used his fob, and it worked. Tried mine again, worked fine. I have also had the truck lock with the keys in it several times. Luckily, the back doors don't lock! Glitches?

Haven't received the deep sleep notice and hope not to. Mine seems to run on electric often. Even short trips have had no issues of deep sleep.

Thank you. Think I’ll pass. The one on my Bronco Sport was “built in”.

It’s a regular Ford part that they have sold for several years. I had one added to my F150 years ago with no issues. It is attached with a special 3M adhesive tape. Comes in handy

Could also be the way Maverick shows an aggressive breakin was attempted. My Silverado did something similar when I did a overnight in a older area in a tourist town.

Watch when you get out of the truck and be sure you are not accidently pushing the manual "lock this door" lever above the lever you pull to open the door. This has been reported in the past as being done.

It's a shame ford did away with the hard wired version - That thing has saved my bacon a couple of times. but at least the battery powered one works.
