Lobo intercooler upgrade

Run into a big issue with upgrading the intercooler. Ford moved the adaptive cruise control radar from the upper grill to the lower. It is attached to the plastic that has to be removed to install the cvf intercooler. Probably going to have to make up some custom brackets to reattach it.

Lariat is there too, but the Tremor is in the upper grille. I would check out the Tremor grille and brackets to see if that's any use.

I sent cvf an email letting them know the issue. See what they have to say or recommend. Will update once I have more information.

I personally wouldn't do this at all - evidenced by the fact I haven't on my '22- but I respect and appreciate first movers as they help everyone. there is limited value you can get from any modifications until reflash tuning devices support the '25.

I still haven't seen anyone talk about a racechip/panda device or jb4 and surely those could be made compatible.

might have to buy the tremor grill and bracket to make it work. At least the sensors are the same between the 2 models.

something probably could be done with 3d printing, but I certainly don't have the expertise or tools to do that myself. I like the Tremor grille anyway, that's why I'd previously already looked into this.

I spoke to Burger about the JB4 and sent specs and pictures of the new engine and they said everything should work the same

Let's hope for your sake that the intercooler piping connections remain the same with the new MPC Ecoboost. Lots of changes to the routing, etc. in other applications with the new engine.

Ford list the same part number for the 24 and 25 intercooler, so the connections "should" be the same.

agreed. downpipe is the same also, for the non GPF version at least. the up pipe might be different which is impactful for some mods, but not an intercooler swap.

That's good. Good luck! I got mine in fine, but it does take some finagleing.

there's a guy over in the big ACC DIY thread who designed a radar mount for the grille. it looks like it clamps on.

if you haven't a solution yet you might check that out.
