I just put on Falken Wildpeak AT3s in 235/65/r17 and I’m in Florida as well. This is my 4th set of these tires on various trucks I’ve had. Absolutely love them because of the performance in our heavy rains in the summers while being very quiet and adding the looks while not hurting you other places.
Again just my opinion but they’re my favorite tire for the application and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy them again and again.

(I bought 235 over 245 because of the sales and promotions running saving me $25 a tire for the 10mm narrower)

I love how these look on your truck, badass. Are you using a leveling kit?

Can you post pics to see how it looks and did you lifted or just did the leveling kit ?
This is for the ecoboost models.

After doing my visual charts I thought it would useful for us to collect all the larger sizes that members have tried on the truck in one place and which ones fit the stock height without rubbing or which ones fit with rubbing or lift kits etc.

For those looking for additional clearance - Keep in mind, going from a 28.5" to a 30.5" tire only nets you 1" of added clearance.

Stock sizes

225/65R17

Any thoughts on a 265/70R17? I have installed the 2.5” super lift. The BFG KO2 should be ok right?

I pulled the trigger last week on new tires to replace the stock Pirellis on my '22 XLT FX4. I have no plans to put a lift on my Maverick..but plan to add a level kit on front.

After looking at all sizes that could put on my truck..I chose 245/65/17's and pretty happy with this choice. Put a set of Cooper Discoverer AT"s on it ($141 ea through Walmart) and happy with choice. Truck drives smoother, still gets up and goes, looks great, and I have no clearance issues.

Thanks to those I DMed about their tire choice and size. This forum has been awesome ..thanks to all who contribute to it .

I am currently running 265/65R17 Hankook Extreme ATs with the Rough County 2" strut lift. Very, very minimal rubbing only at full lock, on the fender liner at the pinch weld. I could knock the rail down with a hammer and adjust the liner, but at this point I don't think it's worth it. I will be starting a build thread and will edit a link here and in my signature when I do.

Michelin cross climate 2. Best tires you can get that are truly all season. They are better than some winter tires. I also like th tread pattern, I will be on road and going thru snow much more than any mud. They fit easily and give a little beefier look and poke a little

If this is useful information to anyone - I've noticed an anomaly that may be useful for some of you interested in Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws.

The AT3Ws are LIGHTER (only 31 pounds) in the 235/65/17 than most other tires of this size...... as well as lighter than their smaller Wildpeak AT3 counterparts @ 225/65/17.

I've checked multiple sources, tire shops, Falken's website and even my helpful representative on the MTC forums Matt from @America'sTire. At no other size comparison (245s for example) do the AT3s come out lighter than the BF Goodrich or Toyos or K2s etc. than in the 235/65/17.

I was thinking of doing 235 Wildpeak Trails until I learned that (but only in the 235 size) the AT3Ws are still almost 4 pounds lighter - the Trails are around 34/35 pounds in this size.. This means that if you want the aggressive tread/look of the AT3Ws, but still care about your mileage like me - I have an XLT Hybrid in shipping - then perhaps that's the best of both worlds.

I don't know a lot of those sites say a lot of things aren't compatible when they are but anyways I got my rims off of broncosport but either way if it's the same size tire as your room they will fit

265/65R17 sounds like a good size. I could use a little more ground clearance and a wider tire would let me air down to lower PSI.

Anybody have any thoughts on 235/80r17? It opens up some more MT tire options. I imagine a 2" lift would be necessary but at 235 it might me narrow enough to fit.
LT 235/80/17 is the size I’m gonna use on my new tremor at 31.8” since Ford Ranger lifts actually states you can use a taller wider tire with their lift. They say you can use a 255/75/17 actual dimensions are 32X10X17 & minor inner fender trimming is required of pinch weld & plastic.

That tire should look pretty good with the lift, but 1 thing I took into account when choosing tires after I lifted mine was the weight of the tire. 235/80s are mostly going to be 10 plys. Which will be SIGNIFICANTLY(!!!) heavier, and affect your performance and MPGs. Not saying don't do it but at least keep in mind. That unsprung weight will be the biggest impact on MPGs. I wanted the tallest, WIDEST, and lightest tires I could get. Ended up going with a 265/65/17 at 40# there were some lighter options but I like what I ended up with.
