I have a 2023 Hybrid Lariat lux with BAP and most bells and whistles and the wheel is definitely not real leather. Mine didn't come listed on the window sticker either. Coming from a 2019 Lexus the feel is different/ "cheaper" but tbh it's not that bad. Production started Jan 12, 2023, build finished Jan 30.

Back to the initial question, the 2023 Lariat Lux added NAV in the package which was not available in the 2022 Lariat Lux. One thing that made the cancel/rollover delay a little easier to take for me.

My WS dated 1/4/23 shows leather steering wheel (not in Canada). Feels like leather to me (I don't know for sure) and that steering wheel heater is instantaneous!

The 'leather" steering wheel in the '23 XLT Lux that I just picked up feels different than my '22 XLT Lux. The '23 texture is finer and feels more like foam in comparison.. It's the first thing I notice jumping from one truck to another. The '22 was better.....

That is because it's not leather. It's vinyl wrapped. It's smoother like the same material as the seats in the Lariat. I personally like the smooth texture better, but to each his or her own.

If anyone is wondering what the difference looks like between real leather and the fake leather, here you go. Real leather on top. From a 2022 Maverick. Stitching is completely different also. Real leather has a more grainy texture but feels softer. Also is a darker black than the vinyl pleather wheel.

In my experience, the fake leather offers better grip than leather and holds up very well. I have that material on a 13 year-old Ford with 150K miles and the only sign of wear is smoother texture where I habitually grip the wheel.
