I stopped by a local dealer yesterday to inquire about ordering a 2024 EcoBoost Lariat when the banks open. Guy at the dealer configured it in the ordering system and "saved it as a draft" with everything I wanted, except that he "couldn't find keyless entry keypad" anywhere on the dealer ordering screen.

Anybody know if the keypad on the driver door is standard on the Lariats? On the '23 build-and-price, you have to add it under the "accessories" category for $115.

I'm thinking maybe he overlooked it and I'll ask him to double check next month when the order is actually placed.

Who Knows?? There is always a possibility that warehouse they found stock of old door keypads laying around in and decided to stick on the Maverick the first 2 model years has now been depleted. You're talking 2024 model year , yes it was standard on XLT and Lariat in 2023. Ford may delete it for 2024, just like they added cruise for XL in 23, and changed up packages from 22 to 23, which is why so many people on here have received their trucks under the impression they ordered co-pilot 360 with Lane Keeping and adaptive cruise control and find out otherwise when it arrives because they actually had to add the 360 copilot assist package in 2023 too.

Programming it is kind of funny. Only 5 buttons but they have multiple numbers, even though only the first press counts. Why not just keep it 1-5. They aren't making it any more secure by adding numbers to the buttons lmfao. And it's a 5 digit code, not like 4 that most people are familiar with like say, a debit card pin that everyone will remember. So for example, if your pin is usually something like 7238, you would need to add one more number anyways. Just kinda weird. Personally I like it as an extra just in case I guess, but if it was an option you could chose not to have, I would have left it out.

Easier for people to remember different codes.

It seems that Ford did eliminate the standard Keyless Entry Keypad on XLTs and Lariats for 2024, and I'm not the only one who was extremely disappointed by that.

A member who works at a dealership in Kansas posted that Ford has decided to bring the Keypad back, albeit as an option - no longer standard. His direct quote is, "The community has spoken and Ford has listened. Keypad is now a Dealer Installed Option, cost is $230 and can be added to the order now." Thread link attached below.

Here's to hoping that they plan to offer a hard-wired option, but I'd take the "stick on battery" option over nothing at this point.
