I'm just another lurker so far. Kinda considering buying a Maverick hybrid. I've been a fleet mechanic for a while so I've been out of touch on new stuff for a while, basically working on the same things for the last 8 years...

I currently have a Mitsubishi Mirage as a commuter car and an old Dodge diesel to haul our camper and toys around. I'm bored of the car though it's dead reliable (believe it or not...)and is cheap on fuel.
I've been watching the local prices and availability of the Mavericks for a while and just noticed today that a local dealer has a cactus grey XL hybrid (with some co-pilot option)in stock.. Or at least they show one online...

I haven't done a lot of research on these things but I understand they're capable of getting 40mpg(us) and might be able to tow my side by side(1600ish lbs) around, at least short distances without blowing up. If it can't then I could always just use the wifes Korean rickshaw V6 Sorento.
From what I understand the 23' XL now comes standard with cruise control so I guess that's a bonus.

I'm not exactly a Ford fan(after 97') but I've owned many and am thinking about buying one of these things.

EDIT: I contacted the dealer that has the Maverick I'm interested in. It's already sold. I should have figured that after seeing how many people are waiting over a year for theirs to be delivered. I don't have that kinda patience...dealerships tend to leave a pukey taste in my mouth anyways, regardless of what logo is hanging on the building.
