My dealer just called me to let me know my CG Lariat is at the rail yard ready for pickup. I’m actually going to be in TX on Wednesday and was thinking about driving it back to Florida. Turns out the dealership is willing to put the truck on a trailer and send it to me for just $750. Which is a much better deal than driving it 17hr.

excited to finally be at the end of this roller coaster

By ready for pickup, you mean by the trucking company? You picking the truck up from the rail yard was never an option, right?

How are you figuring out whether it's scheduled for trucking? Through your dealer?

As I understand it, it’s on a truck at the rail yard. About to make the last leg to the dealer. Picking up at the rail yard may have been an option but It’s never been discussed.

Gotcha. I highly doubt picking up at the rail yard would be an option. That's why I asked. You would have to complete the purchase of the truck without seeing it and would then be responsible for any damage or other issues it may have incurred during transit. I don't see any dealer being willing to do that.

Yeah. They are saying that the truck Wil be shipped with all the paperwork. Once it gets to me I’ll do the pickup and paperwork.

What was your Shipped date and that delivery time window they give?

Mine is also shipped and heading to a SE Texas dealer. Trying to gauge how accurate the timeframe Ford gives is.

[edit] Found it in your previous posts

Ordered: 8/14
Built: 9/24
Shipped: 9/26

fords shipping/eta estimates are pretty conservative. Under promise, over deliver is what it looks like

Hell, I'd be delighted to receive it and drive it home after all this wait. Especially since you won't have to worry about ice or snowstorms (got stuck in my own damn driveway this morning). Road Trip!
