Well I got the modifications done to blend the cap to match the bed contour (Pictures Attached). Came out pretty good and allowed the cap to snug up to the Cap just a bit tighter. I might try to finesse it a bit more in the future but I’ll give myself some time to get used to it. I also included pictures of the Tail Gate Lettering, not vinyl but raised Letters.

nice job on the fitting!! its too bad the manufacturers don't spend a tad bit more time making it right.
its not a body on frame so it should be able to have a minimal clearance with a tiny weather strip.

good job on the fitting - thinkin a pencil compass would transfer the forward curve exactly - remove material to the line, sandpaper or file then a gasket against the cab - should be good to go, looks good

I don’t think the Cap can move any further towards the Cab or the Rear will start to pull over the Tail Gate. The Gap as it is between the Cap and Cab meets my expectations but as I stated I might do just a bit of finessing of the contour. I think I might look at adding a thicker Gasket under the Cap for additional padding in the future.

Before everyone jumps in, YES no one should have to do this on a $2400 Cap! But I am a “tinkerer” of sorts and just looking at it bothers me (OCPD?).

The caps I was finding were $3000+ so your price seems like a good deal.

Alpo18, how far forward do you think you were able to slide the cap after rounding that bottom corner? 1/4"? It looks so much better now, good work!

Absolutely lovely. Excellent job. This is the way it should have come from the factory. Your work has convinced me this is the cap I'll grab.

Did you have to do anything more than rounding the front curves? Simple sanding? Did you feel it necessary to epoxy (seal) the cut edge?

Here is my Leer topper just got! It is same as Snug Top and has Ford logo. Love it! Getting compliments at the red lights too!
