We're on our Second MachE. First was First Edition and with being first of any manufacturer, had recalls. Didn't do any that needed the car to go to the dealer and we were fine. Our second is a MachE GTPE. Love both of them. Had a Lightning as well and it' was worlds better in torque, ride quality with the unique rear suspension, but Range and our traveling habit of Splash and Dash on our Hybrid F150 just wasn't for us. Still have the GT, but one of our vehicles is always going to be ICE.

Recharged for the first time on the road in three years of EV life and it wasn't bad at all. 25 minutes from 18% to 85% was fine as we shopped at the Retail stores nearby as we watched the MachE progress and didn't want to hog up a charger while we sauntered around. Will do it more actually.
If your doing over 350 miles a day on highways, hauling construction stuff no way will we let go of our Hybrid or full ICE.
Contractors with a local service area though EV truck makes a great business case.
Wow! That is a very logical post. I've tried that argument largely unsuccessfully out here but not with everybody. There are those who say if you're someone who tows something 800 mi a day and EB is no good. So therefore they're no good for anybody which is just a ridiculous argument. It's horses for courses. If you did went on tons of really long road trips in rural areas then it might not be the best. But for most suburban drivers with a driveway or a garage, it's fine to go EV.

Until the price of electricity goes way up because of the lack of generating capacity and increasing demand.

Well they probably made that same argument when color TVs came out.... Our use of electricity has gone up over the last 80 years we just have to work to keep supply where it needs to be. The other argument would be as gas is used less and less theoretically the price would go down but it reaches a certain tipping point where it's not worth grilling for or having a gas station etc. And then the price will go up.

Back then they were building, on a regular basis, more generating stations. Not now

I'm getting the Lariat hybrid. I'd drop it like a hot rock for a Maverick Lariat EV.

Update... Living with a Maverick Hybrid for last 4 months... Completely charmed and smitten by the Maverick hybrid. At this point I would go with a PHEV vs an EV. If Ford offers a PHEV in the future, with a minimum of 50 miles on battery, we will be a two Maverick family.

Update: Ordered a 2023 Cyber Orange Hybrid Lariat Lux Maverick, 9/20/22. So hopefully at some point in 2023 we will be a two Maverick family. If in 2024 Ford does a PHEV Maverick we will order one and sell/trade in the 2022 Maverick.
A Maverick PHEV sure, we have a solar charger at home. A full EV, no way.

Well then we should build more generating stations. I would imagine if electrical demand goes way up they will start building more capacity

Atlas blue AWD EV Maverick with Solid state batteries 500+ range per charge and 0-60 in under 6 seconds would be my dream truck..

I think a lot of people are waiting/ hoping for solid state batteries to show up at a reasonable price sometime soon

No. Hybrid works very well for our use. We now have two Ford hybrids; the Mav and an Escape and I can't see how a full EV would be a viable improvement for our situation.

No EV for me, I owned a 22 eco AWD and it was great, then I traded wife’s Explorer for a 23 hybrid lariat and it was even better. So I traded the 22 eco for a 24 hybrid lariat HPR. Wife immediately took it so I’m stuck with the 23 hybrid lariat.

Given all of the negativity coming out of Elon and Tesla these days, I have no interest in an EV at this point.
lol... what would that have to do with driving an EV? If it fits your use case, it's a great choice.

Yup, don't have to love the manufacturer (or hate them), if a particular item fits your needs it's what you get... and if it does what you need and expect you don't look back. For my use an EV wouldn't be the best choice, wouldn't matter who made it.
