Could it have been flat towed behind a RV or something? Looks like it’s in unusually clean condition, considering.
Even if it was towed someone drove halfway to the moon.

This truck should be a good test case for the 2.0L EB reliability. There are a lot of articles out there that theorize that these engines will require some expensive maintenance around 150k miles and this one will be there way ahead of most of us.

Thanks for checking it out!

Am I reading the record right? Original tires lasted 84K miles? Wow...
in 88-89 I drove a 87 Dodge D50 pickup the same way, lots of highway. We switched the original Yokohamas at 100,000 miles after 1 tire picked up debris. The other 3 tires still had about 30% of the tread left. We just replaced the set.

I dont know how an EV could do it in any decent time without a helluva solar trailer?
As for the fastest record time thats kindof irrelevant to what it really is. A record attempt isnt a race. Forward spotters and such like some have used is really a race either. Any cannonball should be done with competition and comeradery on the road. With weather, event traffic, and everything from wildlife migration to drunk driving checkpoints. Pure records could be thwarted anywhere along the way. But a race, a real race like the 5 ones in the 70s is the only way to do it properly.
My point exactly. But a solar trailer wouldn't help. The extra weight would kill range faster than it was created. A smallish Diesel generator maybe.

This could've been used as a Turo or Uber vehicle.

I drove too many interstate miles for that crap. Plus we sold take off parts, and had new take off sets of tires just sitting there.

My post is in reference to this post, if you haven't seen it.

I was incredibly shocked by the mileage figure on the above post, and I live near the dealer, so I had to go see it from the perspective of a current Maverick owner at 10,000 miles. I also wanted to see if it really had that many miles, or if it was a typo or something. It's not!
Elgin IL?! I don't live too far either, just over the border in Wisconsin. Thanks for making the trek and taking pics. Asking that much for a 100k+ Maverick is insane.

my maverick 2022 hybrid is a year old with only 9k so i wonder what's it worth. From my experience towing my fusion, that won't put miles on it. To get that many miles on it in a year, you would need to drive 10k each month or 306 each day. WOW!!

Cannon ball theory holds up. 75 gallons would easily make the miles but the high speed would kill the mpg to like 30mph.
In my 2 L all-wheel drive I get about 14 miles to the gallon at 110 mph with the cruise control on

The original owner probably picked it up at the Hermosillo plant and decided to take scenic route back home, driving it all the way down to the southern tip of South America and then driving back up on the opposite coast to the United States. By the time his ass got home, it probably already racket up 60k miles. I'm telling you, some individuals are crazy like that.
Can I do that?

Some brands do allow you to pick up a vehicle at the factory, in select markets. Ford does not offer that. The vehicle must be delivered to the dealer.
