My point exactly. Here is a helpful tip: don't use it.
I did it to myself by accident, was like what the HTo me, it makes the maverick feel like it's broken. Having to give it a jab of the throttle to overcome the brakes. I was wondering if it was genuinely having an issue, then I realized my brother turned Autohold on with his elbow while getting in.
This is the first time I've driven a car with Autohold, does it basically perform this way in most cars? I understand some don't want to sit there applying brake pressure in stop and go traffic for an hour. But for most other situations, I'm just not a huge fan of how it makes the maverick lurch forward unpredictably.
You have to use Forscan to disable it on the EB. The Start/Stop on the EB is terrible compared to the hybrid and my brother turns his off.I don't like the auto start-stop. Is there a way to disable it besides pushing button to off every time?
On page 222 of the manual it states ACC holds vehicle at a stop and sets the parking brake after 3 minutes. I could not find a reference of autohold automatically turning off.Yes, if I recall correctly the manual states auto hold only stays on for 3 minutes. I always keep my foot lightly on the brake peddle, just in case it times out, and to prevent myself from accidentally tapping the accelerator when I don't want to.
I hate the feature too, but there is zero reason to complain about it. You only have to turn it off once and it will never be on again unless you turn it back on.... The auto start/stop is the really annoying one because you have to turn it off every time you start the vehicle. To me, it makes the maverick feel like it's broken. See, not to be a contrarian, but I don't mind the start/stop, not on the hybrid at least. It's very seamless, you start moving, the engine usually starts back up at that point, but not always. Plus the maverick hybrid doesn't have a starter, so it's not putting additional wear and tear on the components, not really.I hate the feature too, but there is zero reason to complain about it. Yep.Just turn it off and it stays off.
I rarely post but thought id put this out there....Another solution for those that have a NON HYBRID model, simply.insert a piece of plastic under switch and it will keep feature in off positive. It saves u $100 feom.having to buy aftermarket part, is barely noticeable and not in the way of anything either. I have been using this method to defeat the auto on / off in wife's sante fe for past 3 years. If u desire to use the feature, simply remove piece of plastic. I made slight bend on 1 side of plastic, like an L shape, the bent part latches perfectly on switch itself and will keep it off. Insert plastic piece while holding button in, u will note button will feel tight, that is a good thing, means it's locked in off position. Wgen u restart vehicle, it will be highlighted in the off position, effectively defeating said nuisance . Surprised no1 thought of or mentioned this, but hope it helps those out there that do not care for the auto on /off, myself included. Get a black plastic card that u do not need, cut down to half inch or so, bend one end alightly ,like an L , insert as in pic while pressing button in off position, problem solved. It will blend in with trim, un noticeable & not on the way of.anything. just another easy option for those that do not wish to spend $100 on something they feel they should not have too. And takes a sec to remove or install. I enclosed a few pics , 2 of mav and 2 of hyundai to show what to do. I'm sure any vehicle with a auto on / offHere is a helpful tip: don't use it.
Took a bit getting used to if turned on. Like vehicles I’ve had in the past (and with the feature turned off) the vehicle rolls when removing foot from brake. When turned on, the vehicle does not move unless you press on accelerator pedal.Sounds like having to relearn how to drive to me. I haven't tried it out yet so I need to do that.
Who knows, maybe I'll like the feature.
