Hey guys,

I tried looking and I couldn't find the answer. Does anyone know about how much mpg you'd lose on the hybrid doing the 2" lift kit?

It will be worse if its a level lift. Nose in the air means wind on the belly. Like a sail.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm not aware there were unlevel lifts?

Pickups are not level front to back from the factory. The rear end sits higher (in the case of the Maverick, 1.5" if I recall) to compensate for a load in the bed or while towing. A level kit will include suspension components just for the front to level that out.

Ahh yes yes that's right (memory of being told not to drive my truck in high winds coming back). I appreciate that note but any idea how to calculate the mpg loss? I don't want to do it if it will be over 10mpg

Assuming 37mpg to start, you would not lose 10mpg just from a small lift. Maybe 1 to 2 mpg. Throw some big tires on too and probably looking at a 5 to 6 mpg loss max

I cannot say, and have no interest in butchering my Maverick that way ...

That said, I would be astonished if it made a 10 mpg difference.

Definitely won’t lose 10mpg. More like 10%. Mine is a 1.25 inch level. With 245/70 17. I’m getting about 38mpg. Combined. My last tank was mostly city and I got 41mpg calculated at the pump.

I don’t think you could do that since the rear is different on the hybrid. At least that’s what I gathered from the forum which is why the level kit is the only reasonable idea without spending a fortune. It’s probably why we haven’t seen a 2 inch lift on the hybrid.

I may be wrong but I hope I am. I would love to do that as well…

How it so far with your lift and tires? And do you think you can run 31' tires?

Be advised if you do the lift and have issues with the drive train components like the CV axels Ford might not warranty them.
