I can't bust this myth. Looks to be the truth at least for this week.

Well, with the news, I called my dealer, removed my xlt lux package and switched to the 2.0 eco. I was on the fence about making the changes last week and decided to go ahead and run with it.
I did the same awhile back. Then, the following week it was scheduled.

Which Christmas?
This one lol. I wanted to get it set up and take it to Branson for the JPMP National meetup for the release of Dominion. If I can get door, hood and tailgate measurements, I can get a good bit of the decals done and have my wheels and tires waiting for installation, but still...

It's getting extremely hard to stay calm with each passing news regarding hybrids. First it was 30% of all builds would be for the STANDARD hybrid powertrain. Then it was only 31% of lux packages would be scheduled. Now it's 0% of hybrids until further notice. Okay, Ford. I'm in a position that I can wait. You got till Summer 2022.

The All New Ford Maverick! You can have any engine you want as long as it's the 2.0 EcoBoost!
Kinda sounding like the new Ranger, you can have any engine you want as long as its a 2.3L Eco-Boost

I was close to choosing the AWD over the hybrid and if it was just the engine holding me up I’d change. However, we’re also set on the Rapid Red so changing wouldn’t make much difference.

If you go to ford this is for the New York region right now. But it does say it could affect other regions

So I now have $88,000 in Ford orders (Mav - 6/20/21 res and Bronco 7/14/20 res) that I have no idea when I’ll ever get. I’ve just about had enough. Patience only lasts for a lifetime, and mine keeps getting shorter.

Fall isn't over yet.

Honda and Toyota reported they will have production issues for September. October chip issues are supposed to be better and production to get back to better levels.

So having said that, come late fall going into winter if Ford still has scheduled my hybrid maverick, I will probably just lease a new honda or Toyota (assuming they have inventory ramped up by then like they claim).

We still have time to see.

It's unfortunate, but not really surprising. There are multiple articles about EV batteries having production supply problems, and some on reliablity. That's the main reason I went with the 2.0 from the beginning. For all of the hype, new technology has issues. Most on this site probably don't remember the frequency with which the DOS based computers crashed in the 80"s. The specific chips needed are likely just part of the problem for Ford.
