I'm quite surprised how a base-engine Maverick can knock the socks of a Bronco with the top engine. Then again, the Mav is a lot lighter, so it makes sense.

I am amazed the Mav beat the Bronco! I need to re-calibrate my lifetime of thinking the much greater HP/TQ would win, but then again the Bronco is an off-road focused vehicle.

But geez, maybe I won't have to stay in the right/slow lanes once I get acclimated to the Hybrid's combined TQ curve.

That bronco is geared low, but if it was geared at a standard ratio it would smoke the Mav. Good news is that the mav will obviously be no slouch on the road and that’s all people are worried about. Hit the gas on the freeway and you’ll get past people, plain and simple!

The F150 hybrid costs about $20k more to start all the way up to $40-50k more and also doesn’t get mpg’s above mid-20s. With gas at $4+ that is a huge difference. Go Mav!

This completely reinforces my decision to buy the hybrid maverick. I thought it was the ecoboost when I first saw the video until I saw the hybrid badge.

Wasn't that surprised, as we have a truck and a Vette that stock for stock the two 5.7L V8s are actually quite similar power, but the fact that one has the aerodynamics of a brick, much heavier wheels/tires, and weighs an extra 2K lbs makes quite the difference!
