Hybrid dropped if I change order?

So in the category of "my dealer says".....I reached out to my dealer contact to drop our order from XLT/Lux to XL with minimum options. I was told that Ford may drop the hybrid engine from the order if I make the change and that it was too risky. I called the Ford customer service number to confirm and they stated that they had not heard that one before, but the dealer would know best. I am aware they are not taking any new orders on hybrids, but shouldn't I be able to change an existing order?

There have been suggestions from those in the know that if you change anything you may indeed loose your spot and could get bumped to next year since Hybrid orders are closed.

Wow, that is pretty crazy. I figured a shift away from at least some of the constraints would be the way to go.....

I think Tim Bartz covered this on his live video last week. Some changes can be made but nothing drastic. I’m not changing anything as I don’t want to chance losing my hybrid.
