Hey guys. New member here. Just some backround, I usually build fast import cars. I can weld, have a mechanic shop, and i'm an engineer for ingersoll rand. (The compressor company)
Now, my Lexus hybrid got totaled and I have a maverick in production.
The crazy thing is that my friends overland in their lifted 4runners and me being stupid I wanna do it in the hybrid FWD. Stupid I know, but hear me out, they can always pull me out.
My plan is to put 265/70/17 or 245/75/17 on it. Implementing a lightweight forged wheel, the wheel weight drops 10 lbs per wheel. The tires gain back 20 lbs each so a total rotational weight increase of approx 40 lbs.
Yes, i know I have to cut, trim, etc. That's my speciality.
My question, is how much do I have to cut/weld for 265/70/17? Do i have to get the 1.5 " lift that's available for the hybrid?
Why not get he 4wd or turbo model? Hybrid gets me to work using the HOV lane in rush hour with one person, free toll lanes in FL, and I drive over 100 miles a day. I also carry engines commonly is not something my Lexus hybrid was not liking.
I will be driving it everyday and I use the hybrid tech. I plan to be in the avg 30s mpg and I'm cool w that.
Any pointers, tips, things I should do?
I know someone out there has to of done something similar.
The plan is Pirelli All Terrain Plus 265//70/17 ideally but i know 245 is more realistic.
Any help is appreciated, and if you wanna call me dumb i'm cool w that too!
UPDATE 1

Got the truck!!!!
GT radial 265/70/17
lift kit should be installed by sunday 6/25/23
I’ll take videos of the process and what i have to trim.
so far I LOVE the truck.
