Throwing a quick set of pictures up on my phone for removing the factory steering wheel switches, all you need is a flathead screwdriver and a t8 torx, use the random holes in the steering wheel from behind to pry and push the little tabs with the flathead and it'll pop right off, then use the torx for the screws holding the switches on.

Where are you located in Illinois? I may need to go for a drive.

I believe that someone asked this earlier and the answer was yes.

Tyvemattis, It is not obvious to me how the switches are wired to the wire harness. Can you enlighten me please?

Years ago, there was a spring loaded sterring wheel and needed a tool to remove. Is this simply undo the bolt and pull the wheel off?

Thanks, can't wait to get this done.

Is there a thread with pictures showing how to remove the air bag and steering wheel?
Turn the wheel 90 degrees each way, and use a pick or small flat head screw driver and you'll want to put it in the slot and push down

Thank's for the reply. I have been reading everything I can find about getting basic CC on a Hybrid XL with CoPilot 360. It seems like changing the switches is the way to go.

I get the basic jist of it but am still not sure of some things.

Do you access the slot from the back side of the wheel? Any other steps prior to this?

Other questions I have:

1-Has a part number been verified for the switches? You need to change both right?

2-Once you have it put back together and have Forscan plugged into the truck what do you do?

quick question… is there anyway you could have taken those switches out and replaced them without taking the steering wheel off?
Yes!!! I did it today! Just have to pull really hard on the plastic trim and it comes out. Had cruise control working in 15 mins start to finish
