Does anyone know how to add auto up/down windows? Mine is an XL, and does not have it. Is it as simple as a Forscan mod?

It requires different window motor assemblies. The auto up/down motors have sensors in them to determine how far up or down to move the window.

If you buy the motors with the auto up/down, does it require any for scan modding, or does it just work?

I believe you need the motors AND a separate control module AND to have it all programmed with FORSCAN

The XL doesn't have the necessary door modules for that function, I wanted to do the same to mine. The wiring is completely different too, so it's not as simple as adding a missing module.

Sorry I'm terrible at following up on posts. A couple of people below me answered correctly - in addition to the motors you have different modules, wiring, and programming. It would be quite the undertaking, unfortunately.

Has anyone actually tested this yet? Or is this all hypothetical

Already verified that you'd need different motors, door modules and wiring to get this on your XLT.

What's the "universal down" feature I've read about? Is that Lariat only?
Yes. Since the Lariat windows all have Auto Down/Up.
You can program Global Down to ON in Forscan. All windows will go down with a button sequence, I think unlock twice.

Unfortunately, Global Up is not possible as it does not work.
