I like the Santa Cruz. Was ready to order one before Ford snuck in and announced the Maverick . Then Hyundai announced pricing, it was too much for what I wanted.

At the '21 ordered price, I think the Lariat Lux Hybrid was a better buy for me. The increased invoice would of changed my decisions at the time of ordering.

What I don't like, the dual clutch, MPG, piano black interior and price. A Limited around 35k would probably garner my interest. Love the bed trunk, activity package Tonneau, and overall look.

I like competition, I hope more manufacturers enter the market and keep Ford pushing instead of milking the same design forever ( looking at you Ranger )

Congrats on the Santa Cruz, I hope you love it!

Before my F-150 I had a Hyundai. All I can tell you is... good luck.

They look gorgeous. But like a GMC, the looks fade when issues start to pile up. Many of said issues they "knew about" but since Korea didn't tell them how to fix it... simply went without a fix. Yes, I kid you not, I had 5+ issues with the car they knew was a problem, but since there wasn't an official fix, they told me to pound sand until Korea graced me (they never did) with a solution.

Paint was crap (even with ceramic coating), interior was the big issue as that becomes a rattling nightmare within a year, I can go on for a long time (I haven't even mentioned any of the 5+ main issues)...

Again, glad you got something, but I'd have genuinely considered getting something cheap and reliable until you could get either a Maverick or frankly something else that was reliable and newer.

Best of luck.

I haven't seen a Santa Cruz under $40,000 in stock at any dealer within 250 miles.

Just checked again, and yep...still the same great "selection."
That search comes from HyudaiUSA. I too could never find anything but the expensive trims listed there. Check the local web pages of the dealers in your area. It's more accurate and you can find all trim levels.

You're correct. I found several listed around $30-$31K.

That's crazy they only list the high dollar models on the national site.

Did this on a lark today… dealer contacted me and said “thank your reservation for the 2025 Silverado EV“.

2025? Hey, at this point I’m used to waiting.
$25k truck. $100k truck. either or. whatever

Fair, but buying the maverick was planned. Running my old car more than a year past expected because Ford strung me along with a VIN and production dates was not. The one and only reason for it was because of Fords multiple failures.
"If you have a VIN, you're getting a '22". How many times did I hear THAT.
Another concept bites the dust in our wonderful new age. I look at it as a failure of our American economy/ industry.

You know that your 1 car is not representative of an entire brand, right? If we’re counting.. I’ve owned 2 Elantras, 2 Souls, 1 Forte, 1 Optima Hybrid, and 1 Genesis G70. All of which were great cars.

The more folks that give up and bail increases the chance, if even slightly, of mine getting built.
If the consumer gives up on an order, it doesn’t go away, the dealer then gets to sell it with an ADM. ( although I think Tim said LM will actually cancel them now, but they are not the common dealer )
