Hood Scoop installed

I ordered my XLT with a hood scoop, but it apparently wasn't available. I ordered it later and it took 3 weeks to arrive. This is what it looks like.

Loose the bug deflector and it'll really pop.

What Mavs need are fender/grill scoops. My Miata had one on drivers side replacing the turn signal unit. At the time you'd install an LED next to it to keep legal. Now a days you could go with a light ring.

I had mine painted because I wanted it to look like it was part of the truck, not something added on to it.

I’ve since blackened the inlet. It looks a whole lot better now.

The hood scoop looks though a/f! That hood deflector looks like it has a mat finish? Can you tell me where to get that? I've been shopping for one, but they all seem to have a glossy/smooth finish.

I agree! When I first saw the pic's, I thought the 'inlet' should be black matte. Please post a pic when your's is done!
