Help please! XLT key remote buzzing

Was woken up to my XLT key remote buzzing at me. It was sitting next to my lamp no one was touching it. As soon as I picked it up it stopped buzzing. My truck is in the garage and everything seems to be fine. Haven't started it up yet. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Which key do you have? Do you have the remote start on your fob, or the actual key that flips out? Maybe the battery in the fob is low? Have not heard of this before. Send a pic of your fob.

I have an aluminum case to protect it. In case it would fall out of my hand and hit the concrete. The other remote wasn't doing anything. What's even more puzzling is it stopped as soon as I picked it up. I doubt it has a accelerometer in it.

Well out and about in the truck and no issues. Very unsettling thing with the remote buzzing

Couple of spritzes of Gremlin-B-Gone ™ should clear that right up.



In a more serious vein, could be the back piece of the fob is just not snapped shut completely tightly. Video below shows how to remove and put back that piece of the fob.

Wish I did, I have had any number of these apart from various manufacturers and there is no component in any of those that would make any noise at all, even when letting the magic smoke out......

I haven't had one like yours apart though. I would pull it apart and inspect for any clues.

Any chance the cover interferes with any of the buttons? Not sure how that would result in a noise... but worth a quick look maybe

Just kidding. Are you 100% sure the vibration was the key and not what it was sitting on? There is no mechanical way for these keys to vibrate.

well i have to ask. was your phone on the night stand with it? And maybe your phone was vibrating and making your fob buzz against the lamp?

well i have to ask. was your phone on the night stand with it? And maybe your phone was vibrating and making your fob buzz against the lamp?

Nope, phone was in the bedroom. Key was in the living room. There was other electronics by the lamp possibly one of them. But the sound stopped as soon as I picked up the key. So I guess we will never know.
