Help needed - Lariat door handle ambient light

Can one of our lariat members take some pictures of their interior door handle that show the ambient light? I'm trying to replicate it with a DIY solution and I'd like to see what it looks like.

Thanks to your request I did notice a small LED light up inside the handle bay. This is just to let you know I got your request and will take a photo sometime today.

I was thinking more on the wiring aspect of the hack, but yes, you are correct . . . it is a small LED easily had on Amazon I would guess.

Probably. However, I've already DIY'd the ambient lighting in the console and front foot wells. Also, the Ford factory lighting (at least in the console) is a 3-wire layout that requires a canbus signal to operate. I have no proof, but I believe they are universal across all Ford products and contain the ability to change colors. See below...

There probably is a setting that would allow it. However, there is no wiring that would allow it, so you'd have to rewire it anyway.

The F-150 guys have a few posts about how to wire ambient lighting and reprogram the APIM. They've also figured out that they are color changing. However, I believe that would require the use of sync 4. Here's some references: https://www.f150forum.com/f129/adding-ambient-lighting-2021-a-502078/

Aside from maybe 2023s that had the center tray ambient light feature removed even XL/XLTs have the ambient light setting in the infotainment already.

That would seem to be the best option. No shopping around for something that 'might' fit. I wonder if Ford left a slot on those handles that are not equipped with the light.
