Exactly. Easy to say I wouldn't pay over when theirs is sitting their garage. I guess all those same people would be walking if their order never got fulfilled.

I'm a firm believer in getting the vehicle you really want. Anytime you compromise and get less, compromise and pay more, compromise and get the wrong color or options you're going to have to live with that nagging bit of remorse and never really be able to love the vehicle -- or you're going to end up spending more to try (often fruitlessly) to make it into something you really wanted anyway (adding CC, wheels, lifts, etc). Don't buy because you feel rushed or because you're afraid of missing out. Buy when the right vehicle is in front of you at the right price. Very few of us ever truly NEED to buy something in the moment.

Yes. I waited a year and had a car with no issues to drive though, so one could argue that you can pay more for convenience if you need the truck right away

I agree,
I had the luxury of having a car that was drivable to use until my maverick was delivered.
I did have to wait a year for my maverick to be built though.

I am not criticizing people who payed over MSRP if they needed a vehicle immediately. I just wouldn't do it because I am a cheap bastard

Well it looks like 2023 MY will stop building in October at this point so the 2024 MY will certainly be higher priced with no plan for Price protection for carry overs. I have limits too, but at 3K over MSRP on a slightly used Maverick would likely be within the limits.
