Of course there is a dedicated screen on the connected system, so unless you were planning on running it independently of your maverick the article isn’t really relevant

In the article, it says this:

"Specifically, the warning notes that Android Auto is no longer supported on phone displays, now requiring a dedicated car screen to use."

Also this:

"Google Assistant driving mode is our next evolution of the mobile driving experience. For the people who use Android Auto in supported vehicles, that experience isn’t going away. For those who use the on phone experience (Android Auto mobile app), they will be transitioned to Google Assistant driving mode. Starting with Android 12, Google Assistant driving mode will be the built-in mobile driving experience. We have no further details to share at this time."

It sounds to me like as long as we have a car with a screen, we can still use it. So the maverick should still be A-OK.

Ok, I know Google likes to cancel things out of the blue. Thank you for clearing that up for me.

I'm glad you made a post about it, because that headline would have definitely given me a mini heart attack if it was going away for ALL devices. 🤣

The original intent of CarPlay and Android Auto was not to look at the phone itself.

As long as I can still use my Waze app for navigation on the truck display, or my phone if need be, then I will be happy. Use a separate USB hard drive for my tunes.
