I've been looking forward to @MABETT's Bed Divider
Ford Maverick Game-changer: MABETT Bed Divider 1000008603

for quite some time, knowing all along I would make it roadside friendly without the need for tools. I can now move it forward and backward along the side rails, flip it up, and even remove it without any tools.

Having to use an allen wrench, as designed, is not an issue though. It takes just a minute to adjust it back and forth anywhere along the side rails. Perhaps another minute to flip it, and maybe one more to remove it. A ratcheting allen tool would cut that time in half. With the Oem install, it is very tight across the top, while the bottom does give a little, nothing you would hear while driving.

My personal upgrade doesn't currently improve or lessen that in any way.
I will be using it as a "select a size" bed area I need at that time and secure my load to it if needed.
I plan to flip it up when whatever I'm hauling is long, so it's out of the way. I can also secure a load to it in that aspect as well. I never saw its use when flipped up, but it could be useful for tailgating or camping as a shelf or table if sorts. I still feel there's room for improvement regarding my spacer, making it even more secure in any position, to be continued.

This mod is just who I am, it is not necessary to do. Install is easy right out of the box
https://a.co/d/dUP9e3k, you can purchase them with or without side rails if you already have them. Just consider the options you have beforehand. I flip it towards the back window for my needs, but their directions are for flipping towards the tailgate. Also, consider which side of divider you want oem rail tie-downs if you have them. I chose in-between divider and rear window. In that position, it contours around my tie-downs in the up position.

This truly is a game-changer for this first-time truck owner who only ever used the trunk of a car.

No, they are not compatible with a diy rail systems. Either oem rails or purchasing the option of divider with rails from Mabett. The hardware within the channels are bigger.

I like, especially with your mod. MUCH better than hunting around for the allen wrench. Still wondering if it'll work with my generic trifold hard tonneau mounts.

As long as the bottom of your clamps are just above the top of the rails...

I like the option of flipping it up. Can be used as a tray for light things. Very cool.

What does it use to lock the bottom of the divider to the bed of the truck? If the answer is nothing, then that is problematic. The gate is 15 inches tall. If it is not attached at the bottom, then the gate serves as a 1.3 foot long lever arm to amplify any torque that is applied to it. I would bet that it would take less than 500 lb/ft to forcibly rotate the gate, thereby destroying the aluminum rails. That level of force could be easily attained by an emergency brake application with a heavy item in the bed.

The gate is anchored at the bottom of the tee piece with an Allen bolt on each side . It's not swinging anywhere .

Can you post links to the hardware you used.

This past week,, I completed my own installation of Mabett’s bed divider and side rails. There was a challenge in completing the task, primarily due to the OEM DIBL (Thanks Ford for forcing that on me with the XLT luxury package .). Taking apart the DIBL to locate and drill out the not well marked locations for mounting bots was the first task. I now have several holes in my liner that are not needed. Thankfully the rails cover them up. The next problem was that, unlike. a SIBL, the liner is not form fitting. There are significant gaps at some spots between the liner and the truck’s sidewall. The included bolts to secure the rails were not long enough to close the distance even when using pressure on the liner. Longer bolts from my stash were the answer.

The instructions and photos were clear. Installing the divider went well after a switch of hardware. The round head machine bolts are turned with a hex key. They work, but using Phillips head machine screws or hex-headed bolts allowing for a socket wrench would have been more convenient. As noted by others, adjusting the position of the divider along the rails, its orientation, horizontal or vertical, and locking in place, requires the hex key. I will be changing out some of the hardware to alleviate the requirement for a tool.

Once assembled, the divider slides easily along the rails. Once locked, the divider will prevent movement fore and aft. It also can serve as another anchor point for securing your cargo. I’m a fan of the Molle system and I’ll be attaching several pouches to the face of the bed divider to hold miscellaneous. It’s a great add to my truck at one-third the price of Ford’s counterpart. My thanks to Mabett..

Ugh, so much prep work for you, but I know first hand its reward. Nicely done.
